The southern Cyclades, which are typical of Greece's islands, simply have to be visited and explored, as much for their historical authenticity and their cuisine as the peace and tranquility they offer for those taking a family break together!
The itinerary below is for illustrative purposes only. It can vary in accordance with the weather conditions and your personal preferences. Be sure to let the skipper know about these before setting sail.
During your cruise, the skipper will suggest visiting and exploring the ancient sites of the southern Cyclades: the ancient site of Delos, the Church of the 100 doors in Paros, the monastery on Amorgos, and many other historical marvels.
Your days will consist of sailing time (around three hours per day), bathing breaks at the various anchoring sites and coves the skipper knows, walks around the islands, and of course, delicious meals.
The skipper will also introduce you to the typical ambiance and atmosphere of this region via the local music and dances that are much in evidence in Greece and the Cyclades. You will also be introduced to a style unique to the Cyclades islands: Nisiotika, which can very often be heard at the local festivals known as 'panagiri'.
And finally, he will introduce you to the local cuisine, which is based on fresh, local products: wine, olive oil, sheep's cheese, capers, thyme honey, tomatoes, lemons… Some of the islands (e.g. Folegandros and Sifnos) have their own local specialities, such as cooked lamb. Be sure to try it!
