Who is Eric ?

Go with Eric for a day exploring Groix, or 2, 3 or even 6 days to discover the islands around southern Brittany: Belle-Ile, Houât, Hoëdic, Groix, or Glénan Islands

What is your motto ?

The sea is always the strongest. But when you know how to deal with her, what a pleasure!

Your sailing style ?

Every boat trip, every cruise is a joy. The skipper likes to be there for you to ensure you sail safely.
I like to propose fishing activities, with a line or on foot by picking shells and crustaceans.
I also propose seamanship workshops, especially for crews with children.

How do you handle the life on board ?

I explain, the crew participates if they want to

How does shopping work?

I can stock up on supplies before departure, or the crew can do it, it is up to them.

How does cooking work?

Everybody helps cooks

How did you become skipper ?

The sea has been a passion since childhood, and as a child, I embarked as soon as possible aboard a small canoe and then the family sailboat.
After working as a teacher in Morbihan, then a professional skipper trainer, I left teaching behind to fully dedicate myself to the sea. I am currently a professional skipper. I supervise cruises, runs, carry convoys and have great chartering experience (France, Spain, England, Mediterranean, Caribbean ...)
I would like to share with you my experience to make you discover all the richness that the ports of southern Brittany hold.

What people say about you?

People enjoy my cruises and leave happy. They are very satisfied with the programme, the boat, and feel that I am a professional skipper pro that is both safe and in tune with others.

Your best cruise memory

My best memory are the Isles of Scilly, a magical place especially for meeting with seals, pubs and the colour of water!
To see the seals, you have to go off the beaten track a bit, to the unusual islands to the east or west of the archipelago. And then we got into the water to swim with them, around 4 metres away.

In your opinion, what makes for a successful cruise ?

A successful cruise is when the atmosphere is good, the weather is favourable and especially when the guests are satisfied.

Your worst cruise memory ?

My most notable experience is a gust of wind from Spain. It is not necessarily a bad memory because it was a very impressive moment. A formidable episode in the etymological sense of the word, that is, one which inspires fear. That lasted about 30 hours. With gusts of more than 60 knots, which got the better of the anemometer! Fortunately nothing broke, apart from that.

When you're not sailing...

I am trustworthy and respectful of others. I like simplicity and friendliness. I am also a hearty eater and ti-punch cocktail lover but I know when to stop in time! I also love swimming, diving. I have snorkelling equipment available on the sailboat. Also several shorts to be able to enjoy it longer, without becoming too blue!
