What is your motto ?
Everyone has their own learning pace. It's better to ask a question by taking the risk of looking silly for a couple of minutes than not to ask it all and remain ignorant all your life.
Your sailing style ?
To find the right balance on board by finding out everyone's level, a fitness evaluation at the start of the course, and from there onwards, safely having fun on the sailboat. Learning in good humour, without obligation if it is not yet the right time, but by urging those who would rather not do it for fear of doing something wrong, my role being to put them into situations of being able to make mistakes without putting anyone in danger.
Stress-free sailing, taking time to explain the manoeuvres, the adjustments, the rules of sailing, the sea charts ...
How do you handle the life on board ?I explain, the crew participates if they want to
How does shopping work?I do not take care of supplies. The clients bring what is necessary or buy it
How does cooking work?Everybody helps cooks
How did you become skipper ?
In Lorraine until 20 years only, I had only done light sailing. A first revealing cruise on a sailing boat initially led me to train myself for my own pleasure with an association in La Rochelle. The call of the ocean brought me, in the years following the end of my studies of occupational therapy, to pass the State Sailing Diploma followed by the Captain 200 Sailing exam. Since 1995 I have carried out some conveyances but my main activity is in liveabord boating schools. My biggest satisfaction is seeing the incomparable pleasures that the crew (beginners or already experienced) get from the ocean, the handling of a well-regulated sailboat and the learning progress, chemistry between the crew and the itinerant discovery of the coastline...
What people say about you?
The words that come back at the end of the cruise describe me a good teacher, reassuring, available and good company.
Your best cruise memory
How to choose??? Everyone likes something different at sea! The next cruise ...
In your opinion, what makes for a successful cruise ?
When everyone comes back raring to go (wind, ocean, learning, human relationships ...)
