Who is Fabrizio ?

Set sail with our skipper Fabrizio around the Bay of Naples! Hear tales of his sailing experience in France and Italy and discover his sailing style and favourite mooring spots. From spring through to late summer set sail with him on one of many possible routes to the Pontine Islands or along the Amalfi coast. Fabrizio also offers sailing and hiking cruises to these same destinations.

What is your motto ?

Sailing made me understand that how little we need to feel good about the world: all it takes is a sunset, the sound of the lapping water against the hull, the wind, the smell of the sea, and life is fine.

Your sailing style ?

My main priority is safety.

How do you handle the life on board ?

I explain, the crew participates if they want to

How does shopping work?

I can stock up on supplies before departure, or the crew can do it, it is up to them.

How does cooking work?

Everybody helps cooks

How did you become skipper ?

I'm a specialist professional instructor and have worked with a number of organisations dealing with many different people, kids, teenagers, young mothers, etc. I have always had a passion for sailing and the sea and trained at one of the biggest sailing schools in Europe, Les Glénans, where I gained my instructors diploma in 2006. Since I have regularly sailed between Brittany and the Bay of Naples, my home town. In Italy I passed my high-seas license for sailing and motor-driven boats which meant I was able to work with associations like the Fondazione Dal Mare, whose aim is to develop knowledge of sea as a source of natural and economic wealth.

What people say about you?

People say that I like doing stuff. And that my big character flaw is wanting to do things too well.

Your best cruise memory

Returning the port of Falmouth in Cornwall at 5pm seeing hundreds of tiny yachts heading seawards for a jaunt after work. Now that's what I call the love of sailing.

In your opinion, what makes for a successful cruise ?

Quand les gens ont trouvé une bonne raison de revenir !

Your worst cruise memory ?

The Skipper :Une opinion tres mitigée. Peu d enthousiasme de sa part et un problème global d empathie . Il a surtout géré la croisière et les escales de facon à préserver sa tranquillité !

Bay of Naples: Sailing cruise and hike!
Starting port : Procida Port

Sail away through the Bay of Naples and discover the magnificent Amalfi coast, a listed Unesco heritage site. The fishing ports and terraced housing with parasol pines along the coastline are so delightful, you're sure to fall in love. And naturally the local mozzarella de Buffala, the pride of the region, is to die for. It is a perfect region for hiking, bathing, sailing and lazing. You'll only have one regret: that at the end of your stay you'll have to come home. Your skipper will introduce you to the wonders of the coastline. Depending on the weather conditions you might visit the beautiful seaside resort of Positano on the south-east tip of the Amalfi coast, which according to legend was created by Neptune, the god of the sea, in his efforts to seduce a nymph. The village is known for its many steep staircases which snake up to its summit from the beach. You'll also probably stop over in Capri. And that's not all: there is also an option to visit the beautiful island of Ischia and discover the magnificent panoramas and its typical fishing villages! The hiking trails in the program are optional and guide charges are not included in the package. You can also set out hiking solo by followed the marked hiking trails. Crew members who don't feel like walking can stay on-board and make the most of the magnificent beaches.
