A micro-climate all year long
If there is a micro-climate somewhere in this world, it's Seychelles! The sun is omnipresent and it is 30 ° all year round. There is certainly the rainy season in January and February but be reassured, it rains mainly at night. The rest of the day is rather dry.
A scattered archipelago with places only accessible to sailing
Seychelles has more than 115 islands! Despite the many flights, each island does not have its airport. This is why the boat remains the preferred way to sail in this archipelago, you will even discover secret places thanks to the knowledge of your professional skipper. Moreover, you are assured of not having seasickness with the absence of swell.
Unique landscapes with granite islands
In the Seychelles, most islands are made of granite. This makes the landscape beautiful, with a brilliant contrast between pink rocks, turquoise sea and white sand. One could believe that the islands were deposited as confetti on the azure water! As a bonus, sailing in the Seychelles has the advantage of offering holidays at a lower cost since hotels are quite expensive in the archipelago.
Our 5 advices for a navigation in the Seychelles
The Seychelles are of an unheard-of beauty and lyrical! In addition, an infinite palette of landscapes is offered to us with white sand beaches, palm trees, but also the jungles. There are actually three different biotopes on the archipelago, especially on the island of Mahé. It just feels like heaven. The first is tropical with beautiful expanses of white sand, coconut trees by the thousands and turquoise water. Rushing further into the land, we find ourselves facing a subtropical biotope with moist forests, before joining the equatorial biotope between forest and mist. During the excursion to Mare aux Cochons, you will have the opportunity to see these three climates in just half a day. Seychelles is also home to a unique tree species in the world: the coco-buttock on Praslin Island! Discover it during a walk in the valley of May.
In Seychelles, fish, the king of Seychellois cuisine, is served in all its forms: salad, carpaccio, smoked, ... but not salty! Indeed, Seychellois are followers of sweet and savory and do not make any distinction between fruits and vegetables. This may seem confusing compared to our Western diet, but the experience is worth the detour. And, in general, the tastes are rather raised! Not a single dish lacks spices and especially curry. Otherwise, do not leave without having tasted a smoked fish, that is to say, cooked in palm leaves. It is a Seychellois cooking method that combines culinary pleasure and nature. To immerse yourself in Seychellois culture, stop by the restaurant Chez Baptista on the island of Mahe. On Takamaka Cove, this restaurant is literally on the beach! Ideal to dive in the water between two dishes or to land on the beach to digest.
Outside of diving, enjoy your trip to Seychelles for hiking! For example, go on a half-day excursion to Mare aux Cochons on the island of Mahe. This swamp of fresh water offers a beautiful walk in the middle of a tropical universe, with in addition a magnificent view of Beau Vallon and Bel Ombre! If you have a little more time, step into Morne Seychellois, a very rich national park with a sensational panorama. Be careful however, this getaway is suitable for experienced hikers. In Praslin, go for a 2 hour excursion between two beautiful beaches: Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. Azure water, pink rocks, white sand, these beaches are worth a visit! But before reaching them, stroll the Seychellois jungle for a change of scenery. On arrival, you deserve to dive in the beautiful water of Anse Georgette! On the island of La Digue, there is a very nice ride in the park of the union, which leads to the Anse Source d'Argent. For the bravest, climb to the Eagle's Nest, the highest point of the island. There, the splendid panorama on La Digue and the surrounding islands will reward you for your efforts!
If there is anything to see in Seychelles, these are the dream beaches! And there is a hell of a lot. Apart from the mythical Anse Lazio and Anse Source d'Argent, considered as two of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, many of Seychelles' beaches are also very pretty and less crowded. By boat, the advantage is that you will be able to discover unexplored, secret beaches by putting you all at the edge of the sand. The beaches behind La Digue and Praslin are much nicer than the most publicized beaches. Otherwise, the island of Felicity also has its share of beautiful beaches, similar to the Source of Silver, with fewer people. There are only two things left to do: put your towel down and bathe in the turquoise water to achieve an unmatched sense of disconnect.
Snorkeling is a favorite activity of Seychellois. With shallow beaches and clear water, all you need is a mask and a snorkel to explore all the way! The Sainte Anne Park is a step not to miss for a snorkeling session: rays and other tropical species, underwater meadows, colorful fish, corals and granite benches, ... Beautiful underwater show! Scuba diving enthusiasts, you will find your happiness in Seychelles! This former haunt of pirates is home to several wrecks. There are also many beautiful fish to see under the ocean, some of which are not visible at home, like the manta ray. Do not miss to explore Marianne Island by the bottle. The marine ecosystem is very rich - gray sharks, turtles, barracudas, not to mention the beauty of the almost lunar island! Here, no need for coral reefs, the sea is shallow and many species live there, to the delight of your eyes.
