Your cruise
Embark on a 14-day sailing cruise to Fiji, departing from Taveuni with an experienced professional skipper.
Located in the South Pacific, the Fiji archipelago, east of New Caledonia, is part of Melanesia. Comprising 333 islands, most of them mountainous and covered in tropical forests, it is home to an exceptional ecosystem, both on land and in the sea. Only about a third of the islands are inhabited.
At the heart of Fiji's authenticity, this trip will introduce you to a way of life far from the beaten track.
This adventure combines custom and culture, and you'll discover the wild beauty of the turquoise lagoons. During your cruise, enjoy a multitude of anchorages in clear waters, so you can indulge in a wide range of activities. Explore enchanting coral reefs, submerged caves, majestic waterfalls, and paddle, hike or horseback ride.
To get to Taveuni, Fiji:
1. International flight → land in Nadi (NAN) (stopovers required from Europe).
2. Domestic flight → take an internal flight to Taveuni airport (Matei - TVU) with local airlines (approx. 1 h 15).
Your possible stops during this cruise
Here's a sample itinerary for your 14-day cruise to the Fiji Islands.
This itinerary is subject to change according to weather and sailing conditions.
Day 1: Arrival on the island of Taveuni, Fiji. Landing on an airstrip off the main roads. A shuttle takes you to the boat for boarding and installation.
Day 2: Early morning departure for the islands of Vanua Balavu. Depending on weather conditions, you can sail non-stop for a day to the anchorage. The crossing is ideal for sea fishing.
Day 3: In the morning, we go ashore for the local custom of sevusevu, a traditional welcoming ritual involving the exchange of kava roots and an introductory speech. Sailing then to calm anchorages, in an environment alternating clear lagoons and dense vegetation.
Day 4: Non-sailing day. Explore the surrounding area by dinghy, paddle or snorkeling. Discover discreet beaches and singular limestone formations.
Day 5: Sail for 1 to 3 hours around the turquoise atolls of Vanua Balavu. First observations of the coral reefs and the underwater life that inhabits them.
Day 6: Head for Wailagilala atoll. Access is via a narrow passage leading to isolated anchorages. Free time for a walk around the island, on fine, clear sand.
Day 7: Sail for around 4 hours to Matagi Island. If conditions permit, stop before lunch at the shelter of a coral reef for a snorkeling break.
Day 8: Sail for around 1 hour to the northwest of Taveuni. Go ashore to discover Bouma National Park: 1 to 3-hour round-trip hike through dense rainforest. Opportunity to observe the endemic red pigeon and reach several freshwater cascades.
Day 9: Further exploration of Taveuni Island by shuttle. Pass through the antimeridian, the geographical line separating East and West. For the more athletic, there's a stop at the Waterslides natural freshwater slide.
Day 10: Sail for around 1 hour to Yiani Bay. Discover one of the region's most famous underwater sites, Rainbow Reef, accessible by scuba diving or snorkeling.
Day 11: Sail for 1 to 2 hours to Buca Bay. Anchorages in calm waters, program adjusted according to weather. The area is known to be home to pods of dolphins.
Day 12: Head for Rabi Island, anchored between clear sandy beaches, coconut groves and shallow waters.
Day 13: Gradual return to Taveuni. Day dedicated to water sports or free time on board: paddling, snorkeling or swimming.
Day 14: Last day in Taveuni. Free time according to mood and conditions before disembarking.
