Your cruise
Whether you're a beginner or want to regain your confidence at sea, this 2 to 5-day course is an excellent way to discover cruising under sail or to improve your sailing skills. Supervised by a professional skipper, this course offers you a gradual immersion in the world of sailing.
Departure is from the port of Les Minimes in La Rochelle, with timetables adjusted according to the tides and specified at the time of booking.
Your possible stops during this cruise
Here's your itinerary for a 2-5 day sailing course departing from La Rochelle.
This is a sample itinerary and depends on weather conditions and your wishes!
Each day begins with a weather briefing and a safety briefing before setting sail to explore the Charente channels. Depending on the length of the course and sailing conditions, you'll stop off around the region's emblematic islands: Ré, Oléron, Aix, or l'Anse de l'Aiguillon. At lunchtime, you'll take a break at anchor or in port, with a swim, picnic on board or discovery on land, depending on the group's preferences.
At the end of the afternoon, the boat drops anchor for the night in a protected harbor or anchorage, ideal for rest, conviviality and discussions about navigation.
Day after day, you'll learn to maneuver the yacht, read a nautical chart, understand the weather and take an active part in life on board, while enjoying a magnificent natural setting.
This course allows you to progress at your own pace, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with the main aim of enjoying sailing and gaining autonomy at sea.

The boat was clean, tidy and pretty spacious. We saw different ports and villages, which was fun, and we even spotted some dolphins while sailing.
We had a great time spending five days of sailing with Olivier. Olivier was easygoing and kind and had many fun anecdotes to share. Olivier clearly loves being on the boat and sharing his knowledge, which was very infectious. We feel more confident in our sailing and navigation abilities now and are planning to go sailing again in the future. We sometimes struggled a bit with the language barrier in moments where unexpected things happened and we had to act quickly. But Olivier tried to prevent these situations as much as possible by talking us through all the steps ahead (for example when lowering the sail or coming into the port). All in all, we would definitely recommend taking a sailing course with Olivier!
A delightful first step on a sailboat: straight into practice and a good atmosphere in the crew. 3 days around Ré, one night in a small port and one at anchor. During the sail, we do a few exercises, review knots, enjoy a swim and meals full of anecdotes.
Olivier immediately involves us in the maneuvers and distils his experience with pedagogy, with a slate if need be. A pleasure to share these few days and evenings with him.
The 3-day course in the Pertuis d'Antioche was a great memory. What's more, in addition to Olivier's professionalism and warm welcome, the other trainees were very friendly, which is a real plus when you live on the boat 24/7.
I spent 3 days on a sailing course with Olivier and it's a great memory. He knows how to adapt to the level of the crew and also knows when to challenge them. As a beginner, I learned a lot (knots, reading charts, maneuvers, etc.).
Great introductory WE for our group of 4 friends with Olivier! Olivier is very pedagogical, professional, and above all super friendly, making the experience as enriching as it is fun. A big thank you to Olivier for sharing his passion with us and learning so many things, can't wait to book our next course!
Thank you so much Olivier, we had a great weekend in your company. Thank you for being flexible, pedagogical and patient, while never forgetting to use humor... We came away with a lot of new knowledge, a new vocabulary and the awareness that we need to review our mental arithmetic basics... ahah! Thanks again, we wish you all the best until our next adventure together ;)
