For this 5-day course near Hyères, learn to sail aboard a catamaran.
Come and enjoy a week of discovery on the Côte d'Azur, not far from Hyères, with lessons adapted to your level and well supervised. You'll experience the thrill of catamaran sailing for 5 days.
When you register, please let us know your level so that the groups are evenly matched!
During this course, you can obtain an FFV level 1 or level 2 certification.

Program for the 5-day catamaran sailing course in Hyères FFV 1 or 2 :
You're expected in Hyères from 7:00 pm on Sunday evening, where you'll be welcomed by your skipper and instructor. You'll be aboard a Lagoon 380 with private cabins (bedding included).
Once you've been briefed by the organization, you'll head off to the restaurant to enjoy the land one last time, before returning to port to spend your first night aboard the catamaran in the harbor before setting sail the following morning. If you can't make it the day before, please let us know. You can arrive on Monday morning at 8:30 am.
Departure on Monday morning for a 5-day sailing course on the Côte d'Azur and its magnificent sea.
During these 5 days, you'll pass through St-Tropez, and of course the islands of Hyères, Port Cros, Porquerolles and the Giens peninsula.
Nights will be spent anchored at sea! Depending on weather conditions, a port of call may be considered during the course.
good to know: The levels are recognized by the FFV and cover 5 areas of competence (sailing and motor maneuvers, piloting, safety, life on board and maintenance) according to the specific teaching content for each level.
At the end of the course, you'll receive a sailing booklet validated and stamped by your skipper trainer, which you can use as proof of training for future courses or charters.

Program for "Level 1 - Initiation" :
Level: Beginner.
During the "Level 1 - Initiation" course, learn the basics / fundamentals of sailing:
- Safety : know how to equip yourself (lifejacket, harness, etc.), know the catamaran's equipment (VHF, fire extinguishers, FAR, etc.), know where the wind comes from, know how to use the winches selectively, be attentive to the advice of your instructor.safety tips, move with balance, prepare for towing/mooring.
- Piloting: know how to read a map and locate yourself on it, know how to maintain a stable trajectory.
- Driving: know how to switch on the engines, know how to maneuver the engine, know how to hoist the sails, launch and use the dinghy.
- Life on board: organize selective sorting, know what can be thrown back into the sea (biodegradable), identify UFOs (traps and fishing nets, cardinals and marker buoys), know the regulations governing anchorage and fishing areas.
- Maintenance: learn the main marine knots (dead turn 2 half key, bowline knot, cleat knot, capstan, etc.), catamaran components.

Program for "Level 2 - Advanced" :
Level : Intermediate.
On "Level 2 - Advanced", you will deepen the knowledge acquired on level 1.
- Safety: knowing the location of equipment on board, knowing how to check safety equipment (life jackets, crown buoy, FAR, etc.), knowing how to identify hazards (the wind, the waves, etc.).), identify hazards (buoys, sounding lines, rocks, UFOs, nets, traps, ships), assess wind strength and sea state (Beaufort and Douglas scales).
- Piloting: read maps, find your bearings, know how to perform a 3 Alignments + Z point, know how to plot a course and define the drift, fill in the logbook.
- Handling: prepare for departure under sail/engine, know how to maneuver under engine, know how to hoist the sails, launch and use the tender.
- Life on board: environmental awareness, knowledge of natural species, sorting/detritus, marine sense: know the rules of the road (apply the RIPAM and be attentive to the routes of other vessels).
- Maintenance: monitor, check and maintain equipment (8 knot at the end of halyards, sheets, bumps, spinlock condition, line break initiators, winch lubrication).
on board the catamaran, you'll be supervised by a professional skipper, so don't hesitate to talk to him about any sticking points you need a refresher on.
