Your cruise

Set sail from Vannes Port

Leave for 6 days in the company of Alain, your professional skipper, to discover the Gulf of Morbihan and the Bay of Quiberon via Belle-Ile. A week of sailing course under the theme of nature and learning.

Your possible stops during this cruise

The itinerary proposes examples of possible anchorages, it can be modified according to the weather conditions and your desires.

DAY 1 : Departure from the port of Vannes / Houat Island
You have an appointment at 9am at the port of Vannes to meet Alain, your professional skipper during this week of sailing course. After settling into his magnificent sailboat, Alain will explain the different safety instructions on board.
You are now ready to sail to the island of Houat. This is the ideal place to rent a bike and explore the overflowing nature of this island. A real pleasure for the eyes! After this good day of navigation and discovery, the sunset aperitif on your sailboat will be well deserved. Night in port.

DAY 2 : Hoedic Island
Today, hoist the sails and head for the neighboring island of Houat, the island of Hoedic. Stroll along the shores of this small 2.5 km long island and breathe in a good breath of relaxing fresh air.
Under the advice of your skipper, don't miss a stopover to meet the small wild creeks with crystal clear waters like Tahiti Beach. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

DAY 3 and 4 : Belle-île (Le Palais and Sauzon)
After a good breakfast with a view that would make many envious, cast off for Belle-Île. The largest island in Brittany, it will offer you a range of landscapes not to be missed!
You will first arrive in Le Palais and then leave for Sauzon on the second day.
Le Palais is the main town of this island. During this day, perfect your sailing maneuvers in order to reach the majestic Vauban citadel, which overlooks Belle-île with its grand fortifications that are worth a visit.
The town of Sauzon is much smaller with a totally different charm.
In the evening, let yourself be tempted by a good crêperie to eat the famous buckwheat pancakes accompanied by a good bowl of Cider. Night at the port.

DAY 5 : La Trinité-sur-Mer
Heading north to sail to the port of La Trinité at the level of Quiberon Bay. Continue to take your marks on the sailboat, gain confidence and reach La Trinité-sur-Mer. Once arrived near the city, start by strolling in this magnificent harbor gathering a great number of sailboats leaving dreamers of the sea and the sail. Continue your walk along the customs path to the tip of Kerbihan for a sublime panorama at the end of the day. Dinner and night at the port.

DAY 6 : Ile aux Moines and D'arz / Return to Vannes
It is now time to return to the Gulf of Morbihan starting with the Ile aux Moines.
A small island where calm and plenitude reign, all in a green nature. We advise you to saddle up to discover the Breton village and its surroundings.
Then hoist the anchor and head for the little sister of Ile aux Moines, Ile d'Arz and its 18 kilometers of white sand. to contemplate from the sea...
It will be hard to get back to the sea and return to reality!

note: Alain adapts to the level of his passengers. Thus, beginners as well as experienced sailors are welcome on board!
Here are some examples of topics to be covered during these 6 days in Southern Brittany:
- Chart reading, positioning, estimation, tides, currents.
- Use of navigation instruments (Gps)
- Introduction to computer navigation.
- Steering (helm, sail adjustments...).
- Maneuvers (sail and speed changes, tacks, gybes, spinnakers, anchoring, harbor maneuvers...).
- Technology, seamanship, safety, weather and life on board.
Do not hesitate to ask Alain during the course, he will be happy to answer your questions.

The cruise

Very good course, we participated a lot and learned a lot because we were 3 trainees. Great boat and beautiful sailing area between Vannes, Houat, Belle-île, Lorient and Groix... And to finish off, a sporting return to Vannes under sail.

The skipper

Alain is very patient, an excellent technician, a nice guy, and he gets us into the swing of things. We learned according to our wishes. Personally, I learned a lot about sail trim, the helm, the chart...
