Hervé will offer you an unforgettable sailing training experience on board his yacht to discover the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean between the Côte d'Azur and Corsica, followed by the treasures of Corsica's west coast. Leaving from the port of Saint Laurent du Var, we'll set sail towards Corsica! The precise day of the crossing will be adapted to fit the weather conditions. If you wish, it's also possible to head towards the island of Elba.
Your possible stops during this cruise
Hervé will meet you on Sunday evening at 7pm in the port of Saint Laurent du Var to welcome you for an unforgettable week on board his comfortable yacht. It's also possible to meet on Monday morning at 9.30am.
After a first evening on board, you'll go together on Monday morning to get the supplies for the boat for the week. Your skipper will then explain to you how the boat works and brief you on safety at sea. Known for his welcoming personality, professionalism, and teaching skills, your skipper will give you all the keys for an exceptional sailing training experience. In Corsica you'll sail along the west coast, in particular between Capo Rosso, a huge pink granite cape, and the small marina in Cargese. If you like picturesque villages, we'd advise you to visit the beach in Cargese and its surroundings! You will also sail in the Scandola Nature Reserve. Both at sea and on land, this nature reserve is one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites. The incomparably beautiful landscape is sure to seduce you.
Whilst sailing along the coast, you're also likely to sail towards Calvi. According to the weather conditions, you can make a stop there and explore the town. From the citadel, you can also admire a particularly exceptional panoramic view over the bay.
Weather permitting, you will go up to L'Île-Rousse. You're sure to love the beautiful sandy beaches and the atmosphere of this commune.
On Friday morning, you'll begin the crossing to take you back towards the mainland.
On Friday evening, you'll drop the anchor on the Côte d'Azur to return on Saturday morning to the port of Saint Laurent du Var.
You'll disembark on Saturday afternoon after having lent a hand in tidying and cleaning the yacht. According to that week's weather conditions, Hervé will determine the timing for the main crossing. You will sail at night if possible.
During this cruise Hervé will give you a grounding in how the yacht operates at all speeds. You will also learn how to manage the sail and operate the spinnaker. Your captain will teach you how to use the electronic equipment, the radar and the sextant. At the end of the training, you'll even be able to analyse weather charts yourself.
Whether you're a beginner or more experienced, your skipper will adapt to this. Everyone is welcome on board!
Throughout the cruise, you'll alternate between open anchorage (outside of ports) and stops in ports according to the weather. Please be aware that in exceptional cases, weather conditions may not allow you to cross towards Corsica or the island of Elba. In this case, you will sail along the French coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Then you will be able to discover, for example, the Hyeres islands via the Lerins Islands, the Gulf of St Tropez, Cap Camarat, the island of Port Cros, Porquerolles...

By road, take the A8 freeway, and exit at Saint-Laurent-du-Var, between Nice and Cagnes sur Mer. Then follow "Port de Saint Laurent du Var". Port parking is not free. Free parking is available in the streets outside the port. Hervé also offers parking at €50 per week (subject to availability). If you're coming by train, stop off at St Laurent du Var station. The port is just 1km from the station, about a 15-minute walk. By plane, you'll find direct connections to all over the world. St Laurent du Var is a 2-minute cab ride from Nice Côte d'Azur international airport. (or 3km on foot).
We visited the most beautiful coasts of Corsica between Calvi and Île Rousse. The weather was variable, but each day was a new discovery, and it was a great pleasure to be able to share moments with Herve and Angela, who told us all about their experience on the magnificent monohull. What's more, we ate really well. A wonderful encounter and magical moments on the water.
Hervé is a great teacher and was able to get everyone involved according to their desire and experience, while remaining firm on safety imperatives.
When the wind was blowing on a sunny day and my daughter-in-law was at the helm for the first time in her life, and she felt how to make the wind and the boat work together to keep us leaning forward....

An experience in a class of its own with an elite sailor on an ocean-racing yacht. As well as being a good teacher, Hervé is an excellent cook and a calm, reassuring captain who will take you to magical places. I highly recommend this trip to all sailors, from beginners to the very experienced, and to adventure lovers in general. An absolute must!

A dream cruise. Hervé knew how to adapt even when we were not on course ;-) to find us dream spots and to adapt to our expectations. in particular an anchorage to make the most of the full moon (full moon party ...)

Oh, there's a lot... but one of the things I'll say is the barbecue on the boat, being at the helm,
I had a great week on Hervé's boat. the nice and relaxed atmosphere was felt as soon as we set foot on board. After the explanations about the boat, the port and the racing "workshop", we were able to make the first tacks and enjoy the boat worthy of the great competitions. We were lucky enough to have top weather conditions which allowed us to enjoy a crossing with jackets and trousers on watch + lifeline. The arrival in Corsica at sunset, with aperitif and swimming as a program was the grail of this day. The cruise will not only have taught me a bit of navigation (sail management, tuning, navigation tools, safety etc...), it will have allowed me to participate in the life and organization on the boat (meals, arrival in port, etc...) and especially it will have given me the desire to continue sailing and dream of sea trips.

We had a wonderful stay with Hervé and Angela. The weather did not allow us to sail around Corsica, so we headed for the island of Elba, which was a very beautiful discovery. We were lucky to have some wind, and therefore to be able to learn to manoeuvre this boat under the supervision of our hosts. Our best memories: crossing a sperm whale, the watches during the night crossing, the superb sunsets/sunrises, helming while the boat is at the lodge or the culinary talents of Hervé and Angela. The only negative point is that you risk going home with the entire Creole Company in your head...

This cruise was my first experience on a sailboat and was exceptional! The atmosphere on board was excellent, relaxed, pleasant and enriching. The crossing was a great trip while discovering sailing and navigation. The mooring spots were magnificent! The week aboard this sailboat was great, timeless and completely disconnected. We had the chance to meet several groups of dolphins, as well as two whales in the middle of the Mediterranean. The paddle and palm activities allowed us to spend excellent moments of discovery in the creeks and creeks. I highly recommend this skipper and his boat, as well as his trips! See you soon I hope
Hervé was a skipper and a great host! Very educational in terms of navigation, very friendly on a daily basis! Many anecdotes on the whole of his journey and his travels have been added to this week by sailboat:) it was very interesting and enriching! We spent a fabulous timeless week with Hervé and Angela. We appreciated the landscapes of northern Corsica in a privileged way. The moments of navigation ( especially at night) will remain in our memories for a long time. It is also worth noting the quality of the meals and the many moments of conviviality spent together.
Hervé knows his boat inside out and is both rigorous and kind enough to explain the basics of sailing. We feel perfectly safe with him after 30 years of sailing in the region.
On top of that, we saw dolphins swimming around the boat several times.
We will long remember this timeless week. Novices of sailing, with a desire to discover in an active way, we started with a crossing. A little rock n' roll for us, who had chosen not to read too much about what was going to happen during this week to keep the surprise. So we were caught off guard when we realized we were going to sail all night (it's very clear). If this experience was so strong, it was because we found ourselves directly in the bath with a tiring night of crossing but so rich in rewards. The stars, the dolphins, the arrival on the Corsican cape at sunrise, then a few days of calm in pretty corners of the north of the island. And above all Hervé in whom we were able to have absolute confidence. His extraordinary boat can certainly complicate things with its technicality, but it allows to optimize the slightest breath of air, and thus make sure to set sail more often (and enjoy!) Last night, I dreamt that I was leaving for a second crossing....
Hervé is a passion for pure sailing, but also a spirit of transmission and a true sense of hospitality. You don't joke about safety, and all in all, it's quite reassuring. Thank you very much!
Very good experience with Hervé, the destination, without comment, the island of beauty as its name suggests. The advantage, Hervé has been going there for 30 years, and knows all the beautiful coves. The well chosen ports of call: the Gulf of Porto, the Bay of Calvi, Capo Russo, the Bay of St Florent... A wonderful week on board the sailboat: we are very lucky to have discovered sailing on this exceptional boat which took part in the Route du Rhum and which now comfortably welcomes neophytes or old sea lions... What a chance for us to have had a sailing experience on a real "formula 1 of the seas". It gave us the impression that we were touching the feelings of "great sailors" with our fingers, at our very own little level. And what a pleasure to steer this sailboat of character, which provides great sensations, and makes us want to cross the Atlantic!
Hervé and Angela have been able to adapt to the constraints of our large family with kindness, intelligence, delicacy and culinary talents! We are very grateful to them for these moments that we were able to live thanks to them and that allowed us to specifically mark our 20-year wedding anniversary... The whole family will keep a wonderful memory of this beautiful experience that we would like to repeat!
An unforgettable memory of anchoring in a small cove ingeniously "privatized" south of the Scandola nature reserve. Calm night, radiant morning, diving in the early morning, transparent sea.
The weather conditions did not allow us to follow the planned program, but it didn't matter... an unforgettable week, incredible sensations and a wonderful atmosphere on board. I look forward to the next 😁

Very pleasant cruise with anchorages in protected and wild bays. The dolphins came to keep us company and play with the sailboat. The crew very nice and a good understanding throughout our cruise. A good way to decompress and forget everything
I chose this cruise for two reasons: 1) the aluminium sailboat built for the Route du Rhum made me think that it was very fast on the water and that its dimensions allowed the crew to be comfortable. 2) Hervé's experience as our skipper reassured me. The sailboat responds as soon as the breeze rises. Hervé is very calm, knows how to pass on his knowledge and I always have in mind his laugh so significant, have a good week, to renew.
Excellent week spent sailing under the very friendly and competent guidance of Hervé. His sailboat is magnificent and of very high flight. A racy of the oceans. we were able to taste the pleasure of sailing in complete safety thanks to Hervé's great skills, his excellent knowledge of the sea and human psychology at sea...
