Your cruise
The Lofoten islands are in the far north of Norway and are an unmissable port of call for sailors in Nordic waters. Located between the 68th and 69th northern parallels, the islands spread over 200 km. Because of their extreme latitudes, the Lofoten islands remain bathed in light, day and night. The mountains of the Lofoten islands are among some of the oldest in the world and plunge abruptly into the sea, creating a splendid landscape often described as the Alps of the Sea. The houses are bunched on a small coastal strip in traditional villages.
There are green meadows, white sandy beaches, wooden fishing boats and red fishermen’s cabins. The islands are some of the best preserved in the world.
A number of passengers visit Norway during the summer months. But as the Norwegian tourist office says the best period to visit is in spring or autumn.
