Your possible stops during this cruise
Discover our private catamaran day trip from La Rochelle to the Charente islands!
please note: "The itinerary will depend on weather conditions, your wishes and those of your skipper."
Your program:
Boarding at the port of La Rochelle and heading for a Charente island, join your skipper at 10:00 am for boarding the catamaran. The crew will briefly remind you of the safety rules for sailing and living on the boat. Once you've hoisted the sails, you'll leave the port of La Rochelle and head for Ile de Ré, Ile d'Aix, Fort Boyard or Ile d'Oléron:
- ile d'Aix: A neighbor of Ile de Ré, Ile d'Aix has a rich history marked by Napoleon, who spent his last three days there before his exile to St. Helena. Numerous monuments and relics pay tribute to him, including Fort Liédot, Place d'Austerlitz, Rue Napoléon, and a breathtaking view of Fort Boyard. Today, Ile d'Aix is also famous for its charming houses with colorful shutters.
- Fort Boyard: Located off the coast of Charente Maritime in the Atlantic Ocean, the mythical Fort Boyard is only accessible by sea. Originally built to protect the mouth of the Charente River, it was later used as a prison and as the filming location for the famous TV show Fort Boyard. Listed as a historic monument since 1950, it is a true icon of the region.
- Île de Ré: Enjoy its pleasant climate, pretty beaches and salt marshes, and discover an authentic, unspoilt island. Nicknamed "Ré la blanche" for its typical white houses with green or blue shutters, it's a true haven of peace.
- Île d'Oléron: Explore the island's capital, Saint-Denis d'Oléron, and its famous Chassiron lighthouse. A mid-day break at anchor will allow you to relax and have lunch aboard the boat.
If you'd like to take part, the day's program includes harbor maneuvers, hoisting and lowering the sails, tacking, tucking in and easing the sails for optimum trimming.
Disembarkation is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the port of La Rochelle, where you can thank your skipper after a great day's catamaran sailing.
