Your possible stops during this cruise
This regatta cruise begins in Port de Herel, in Granville. After crossing the Channel, you will see the high cliffs of the Needles Battery that mark the Western entrance to the Solent, the slither of sea that separates the Isle of Wight from the English mainland. For more information on the Isle of Wight, click here. You then arrive at Cowes, the crown jewel of English sailing and home to numerous sailing clubs, including the most prestigious of all, the Royal Yacht Squadron. Cowes marina is welcoming and well-equipped; the Victorian town centre is peppered with friendly pubs and tempting boutiques. Don't miss the family-run boutique Beken of Cowes, a world-renowned store for marine photography since 1888. The Beken family have captured the splendour of classic boats, from J-class yachts to modern thoroughbreds. Today, their archives contain the largest collection of marine photography in the world.
