Your cruise
Take the time for a weekend or more to learn to sail from the port of Hyères or Porquerolles. My state diploma (BPJEPS Croisière > 200 nm) and 25 years of experience will give you all the knowledge you need to gain confidence.
On the program: learning, reviewing or perfecting, you'll cover the different notions you'll need for your future sailing. Sailboat presentation, safety, anchoring and mooring techniques, safety, harbor maneuvers, tacking, life on board!
You'll leave with all the basics you need and the desire to start again.
Your possible stops during this cruise
The 2 to 6-day sailing course departing from the port of Hyères is a unique opportunity to discover the magnificent Golden Isles and learn or review the basics of sailing.
Program:
See or review vocabulary, harbor maneuvers, sail trimming, buoyage, anchoring and mooring techniques, reefing and much more.
Itinerary
The itinerary is indicative and depends on the weather, your wishes and those of the skipper.
Departure : Port d'hyères
During this 2 to 6-day sailing course, discover the islands of Hyères, also known as the Golden Islands (a legend born of Prince Olbianus), an archipelago of 3 islands.
- Porquerolles: This is the largest of the 3 islands, with a surface area of almost 13km². Shaped like an arc, this island looks like paradise from the tip of the Grand Langoustier to the east coast with the Gros Mur du Nord.
Further east, you'll find Port-Cros and Ile du Levant
- Port Cros, one of the most beautiful, yet wildest and most unspoilt of the Golden Isles. Here you'll find nothing to mar nature apart from the few harbor facilities where tourists can eat and sleep. A paradise for hikers and lovers of picture-postcard landscapes.
- Ile du Levant is famous for the turquoise waters of its Grottes beach and its craggy rocks. It is also covered in Mediterranean vegetation, with exceptional flora. The island is a well-known naturist site that has been tolerated since the 1930s.
For a 2 to 6-day sailing course on the Côte d'Azur departing from Hyères, you can do this itinerary for a weekend. If you go for up to 5 days, you can spend more time on the islands or go further afield, for example to Cannes.

Spent 3 days learning sailing and had the best of times! Despite starting with zero sailing experience, Laurence had us confidently performing maneuvers and grasping the basics of nautical navigation by the end. Beyond the learning, we loved every moment exploring the stunning islands of the French Riviera - it was equal parts adventure and relaxation. Couldn’t recommend it more!
Laurence is absolutely incredible - kind, thoughtful, and endlessly helpful. Very easy to coordinate with beforehand and made us feel comfortable, safe, and confident. A very patient teacher that made each day fun and informative. Would highly recommend!
We already knew this sailing area well, so it wasn't a discovery, but always a great pleasure. We felt like we were on vacation, even though it was just a long weekend.
For me, the aim of this weekend was to reassure myself, as I hadn't been back on a sailboat for 2 years. Laurence was able to reassure me, teach me lots of things, and make me realize that I still have a lot to learn, and a lot of experience to gather. For me, it was an exceptional encounter with an exceptional woman who knows how to share her passion for the sea. She has the simplicity of people who know and don't show it off. So we were both studious and relaxing.
Great cruise and discovery of the basics of navigation. The boat was well equipped and the navigation superbly organized. We highly recommend this experience.
Laurence is an experienced skier who knows how to pass on her knowledge with rigor and kindness. We really enjoyed our 3-day tave with her and recommend her to everyone.
It was a real pleasure to discover the Giens peninsula and the island of Porquerolles from the sea. Laurence, who knows the place like the back of her hand, allowed us to admire every nook and cranny🤩. What's more, the island seen from the inside is also a little paradise.
Laurence is driven by the joy of sharing her passion for sailing and her region with us. She takes the time to understand the expectations of each participant, so as to meet them to the best of her ability. With patience and sensitivity, she helps you find your bearings on the boat and build your confidence in learning your skills. A wonderful human encounter we won't soon forget🤩
