Your cruise

Set sail from Lorient Port

Get on board a large monohull for a 3-4 day sailing course in Brittany! Supervised by a team made up of a professional skipper and their first mate, this course is perfect for beginners to initiate themselves into the pleasures of sailing in perfect conditions. Departure is from Lorient. Click here to find out more about the town and start preparing your trip.

Your possible stops during this cruise

During this course on board a sailing boat, the skipper will train you on the fundamentals of sailing. You'll learn to manoeuvre the boat during sailing and in-port (mooring techniques, entering and leaving the port, etc.). The skipper will also explain how to manage on-board safety, and how to handle delicate situations at sea. David will also teach you sailing vocabulary, how to direct a boat, set the sails, moor, etc... During the three days of the course, your captain will be there to answer your questions! The programme below is approximate. It could change according to the weather and the motivation of the team! 1st day: David will welcome you at the port of Lorient at 9am. After meeting the team, the skipper will brief you on the security advice and the sailing programme, and will show you the sailboat. You'll leave Lorient with the motor, set sail in Lorient harbour, and will navigate towards Groix. An excellent first sailing trip awaits! You'll have the chance to discover the thrills of sailing. You'll have lunch after putting in at the island (to find out more about Groix, click here) and will perform a few manoeuvres around the island in the afternoon. In the evening, you'll prepare to moor, debrief from the first day, and sleep on board. 2nd day: Before leaving for a day of sailing, you'll all prepare for the day ahead. You'll then set sail towards Belle-île or the Glénan islands. This gorgeous journey will be the ideal occasion to cement the learning of the day before, and to learn new things besides. At the end of the day, you'll drop anchor again, and sleep amongst the stars on board the ship. 3rd day: Like the previous day, the whole team will prepare the day's sailing, and will set sail towards Lorient. After this third day at sea, you can really test your skills and put everything you've learned from David over the last two days to the test. You'll have lunch at sea, faced with extraordinary vistas, and will disembark at Lorient in the late afternoon. Like good sailors, you'll tidy the ship and debrief about the three intense days you've just had. The team will deliver, if you would like, an FFVoile passport which will attest to the new skills that you have learned. PLEASE NOTE: From the 29th of April to the 1st of May, David will accompany you on the Tour de Belle-île; Click here to find out more about this regatta. To experience this trip around Belle-île-en-Mer, David has prepared a three-day programme for you. Get in touch to find out more!
