Thomas or Camille will welcome you aboard their sailboat for a one-week sailing course on a private cruise according to your desires, departing from La Ciotat. This experienced sailing instructor will know how to adapt to the level and expectations of each person. The Calanques, the turquoise water and the Hyères islands offer magnificent landscapes.
Your possible stops during this cruise
The program for a private week on a sailboat is built according to your wishes and the weather conditions.
You will be able to discover the sublime creeks, the islands of Hyeres: Port-Cros, Porquerolles?
This program is indicative for 7 days, the stopovers are essentially defined according to the weather in order to learn as well as possible. All the training will take place on the coastal area between Marseille and the Bay of Hyères: the Calanques, the Islands of Frioul, Les Embiez, Porquerolles and Port Cros will be part of the stopovers!
Day 1: La Ciotat Bay
You have an appointment with the trainer at the Vieux Port de la Ciotat. You will proceed together to the bunkering in order to fill the galley on board. Once on board, the skipper will explain you the rules of safety and life on board the yacht. Then it will be time to set sail for your first sail to an anchorage in the Baie de la Ciotat. Night at anchor
Day 2: Sailing to the Golden Islands
The objective of this course is to learn how to manoeuvre in real conditions, while having a good time. You will discover on your navigation the Islands of Hyères : Porquerolles, Port Cros. This part of the navigation takes place in the roadstead of Hyères.
Day 3: Golden Islands / Porquerolles
Take advantage of this day to discover several stopovers on the islands of Port-Cros and Porquerolles, these 2 magnificent islands with varied landscapes
Day 4 : En-Vau
You will have a full day sailing as you will sail up the coast towards the West. While learning how to follow the air and sea currents to sail on a sailboat you will arrive at the Cap de l'Aigle in the direction of the city of Cassis. You can spend the night on an anchorage that your skipper will be able to advise you
Day 5 : Riou
Hoist the sails to the Riou Nature Reserve. There you can discover the coastal conservatory and the history it contains. Also take advantage of the opportunity to discover the seabed which is inhabited by multiple species of fish in turquoise water!
Day 6: Friuli
Sail to the Islands of Friuli, the islands bordering Marseille, which for centuries were used as strategic ramparts during the various wars. Set foot on the ground and discover its many vestiges!
Day 7 : Return to La Ciotat
It's time to return to the Baie de la Ciotat after having learned a lot during this sailing course on board at the start of La Ciotat.
All along the course you will be dealing with the following themes
- Presentation of the sailboat and its vocabulary
- Presentation and explanation of on-board safety equipment
- Sail setting and use
- Port manoeuvres
- Weather and mapping analysis to set our routes
- Use of onboard electronics (speed, wind, GPS, VHF, tablet)

Thomas, professional trainer will allow you to discover and/or progress in your knowledge and experience of sailing and cruising... Thanks to his patience, his availability and his know-how, the learning will be done simply and in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere !His knowledge of the coast between Marseille and Cannes, via Corsica and the Balearics will allow you to leave the tourist and overcrowded paths and enjoy small corners still wild and peaceful... even in season : -)
