Your cruise

Set sail from Saint-Florent Port

Come aboard with Olivier for 5 or 6 days and discover Cap Corse and the island of Capraia, while perfecting your sailing skills.
Open to all levels from beginner to advanced, we cover all aspects of navigation (maneuvers, sail trim, chart table...) while discovering new sites every day.
You do the maneuvering, but the skipper is there to guide you and pass on the passion for sailing, and the skills and reflexes you need to sail safely!

Your possible stops during this cruise

Depending on weather conditions, your wishes and those of the skipper, the program below may change.

Note :
-during May (and September, depending on weather conditions, to be confirmed with Olivier) departures are from the East Coast of Corsica at the Taverna in the town of Maria-Santa-Poggio.
- Between June and August, departures are from Saint-Florent (and September, depending on weather conditions, to be confirmed with Olivier).

Two routes are possible from Santa-Maria-Poggio:
North to Bastia and Cap Corse, or south to Aléria and Solenzara.

Two routes are possible from Saint-Florent:
To the east, Cap Corse and the Tuscan islands, or to the west, Ile Rousse, Calvi.

ITINERARY EAST :
DAY 1: Boarding in St Florent
Boarding scheduled in the morning at the port of Saint-Florent. Olivier will remind you of the safety rules and life on board. Hoist the sails to leave the harbor and set sail in the Gulf of Saint-Florent. You'll take advantage of this time to learn or perfect your knowledge of winds, maneuvers and sails. Sailing along the coast, you'll discover the beaches of Lotu and Saleccia. You'll drop anchor and enjoy a swim in the turquoise waters where you'll spend the night at anchor.

DAY 2: Cap Corse
Approx. 25 nautical miles (5 hrs sailing).
Departure for Cap Corse, a long climb northwards, passing between the coast and the island of Giraglia to arrive in the magnificent bay of Santa Maria with its Genoese tower and small chapel.

DAY 3: Capria
23 nautical miles to Capraia.
A wild and fascinating island, a true Mediterranean pearl, one of the 7 sister islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. You'll love the charming little port and the small village perched beneath a citadel! There are a few mooring possibilities, to the north of the port or in front of the port, in front of a small beach.

DAY 4: Macinaggio
27 nautical miles: After rounding the island of Capraia, you'll return to the Corsican coast, and more precisely to the port of Macinaggio. Macinaggio is the largest marina and fishing port on Cap Corse. The landscapes, still untamed, are of exceptional beauty and rarity. The bay of Macinaggio boasts several coves and sandy beaches, most of which are accessible by boat.

DAY 5: Saint-Florent
44 nautical miles: return to Saint-Florent. If you'd like to make the most of your flippers and snorkels one last time, drop anchor at the Giottani marine beach, before returning to St-Florent in the evening.
Arrival in St-Florent around 5 p.m. for disembarkation.... eh yes, this is the end of this wonderful holiday!
FYI: We offer a longer stay (6 days) to discover the island of Elba!

ITINERARY WEST :
DAY 1: Boarding scheduled in the morning at the port of Saint-Florent.
Olivier will remind you of the rules governing safety and life on board. Hoist the sails to leave the harbor and set sail in the Gulf of Saint-Florent. You'll use this time to learn or perfect your knowledge of winds, maneuvers and sails. Lunch on board, then you'll sail along the Corsican coast towards the beach at Saleccia, where you'll spend the day and night.

DAY 2: Ile Rousse
After an early-morning swim, head for Ile Rousse, a 4-hour sail. You'll be charmed by its narrow, winding streets and tiled roofs overlooking the turquoise water.

DAY 3: Road to the Golfe de la Revellata
Here we recommend a magnificent walk from the citadel to the lighthouse, with sublime panoramic views.

DAY 4: Baie d'Algajo
Heading back up to Calvi, you'll drop anchor in the Bay of Algajo, a splendid spot that resembles the beaches of the Lavezzi, with small coves and rocks eroded by the sea wind. You'll spend the day there, and in the late afternoon you can enjoy a sunset from the deck of your boat.

DAY 5: Saint-Florent
After a final swim, you'll set sail again for Saint Florent. Take advantage of this last sail to improve your learned maneuvers. You'll disembark at around 5 p.m., marking the end of a wonderful cruise.

The cruise

Surprise at the start, as I was the only customer on this trip, although normally courses are for 2 people or more.... Not even a message to warn us of the situation before departure... The fact of being all alone had an impact on the on-board equipment. In other words, I was presented with a fait accompli, when I should have been warned beforehand ... Feeling like a 'Pigeon'..

The skipper

Good seafaring professional, a little demanding at times ...

The cruise

We spent a week discovering the west coast of Corsica on the superb Sun Odyssey 44. This very seaworthy but also very livable boat is cherished by Olivier who has owned it for several years. The care given to his boat, its rigging and its preservation is a beautiful testimony of the respect of a sailor for his fellow traveler. We were happy to share this with Olivier, who owns a small keelboat, and we came with my 23 year old son to discover sailing on a beautiful 14m boat. Franck and Pierre

The skipper

Olivier's teaching skills (former instructor and sailing base director) were put to the test when faced with our great desire to learn. Oliver shared with us all his experience, accompanied us with his constant advice with a lot of patience and kindness. A lot of maneuvers, an emphasis on safety at sea, a very regatta approach to sail trim, in short a delight. This stay is also a beautiful moment of sharing beyond the teaching of sailing. The evenings spent together at sunset in fairground anchorages to discuss around a good meal and a rosé wine will remain in our memories. A beautiful meeting, a wonderful moment of sailing and discovery of Corsica, with experience in addition. Thank you Olivier for everything, and see you soon, we hope.

The cruise

Family cruise. 2 parents 3 children 16,14,10 years old. First experience in a houseboat for my husband and my children. Cruise in August from St Florent to Cap Corse. Program modified by the wind conditions: We liked the discovery of navigation, the notion of team/crew, the swimming sessions in magnificent bays (Lotu beach, fiume santu beach), and the walk on the coastal paths with rock climbing.

The skipper

Olivier is an excellent teacher as well as being passionate about sailing. He knew how to involve each one of us adapting his requests to the capacities and desires of each one. We felt totally safe with him. He knew how to make the right decision when the weather conditions became difficult. Nevertheless he was able to propose satisfactory alternatives so that this stay remains unforgettable for us.

The cruise

We spent 5 days aboard PatDi, Olivier's sailboat, with my 13-year-old son and it was just great! Good mix between sailing course, discovery, holidays, lazing around, swimming etc. We were 6 on the boat (including Olivier) and the atmosphere was very nice. A very good formula in a way. Everybody participates, gets familiar with the boat and sailing, laughs, cooking etc! A very good memory!

The skipper

Olivier is a very seasoned skipper who knows his boat, the sea, navigation, Corsica etc etc. perfectly. It is a pleasure to sail with him. Very pedagogical and passionate about sailing, he will know how to initiate you or confirm your knowledge of sailing. Very organized, he knows how to make the course/cruise very pleasant while being adamant about safety. He transmits to you the "spirit" of sailing which makes the experience very interesting and enriching. In addition you will be entitled to a couscous if you are wise ! :) Thank you Olivier for these 5 days of total change of scenery and for everything else ! Great !

Best memories

The moonset behind the mountain of the Corsican cape lying on the teak of the cockpit ... and many others!

The cruise

Very beautiful wild cruise around Cap Corse and towards the island of Capraia. Good atmosphere on board, crew at the top both for cooking and sailing despite different levels, thanks to a skipper who is attentive and very educational.

The skipper

Olivier loves to pass on his art of sailing and knows how to do it perfectly. Always attentive to the wishes of his crew, he perfectly adapts his program according to the demands and climatic conditions. If you want to learn, improve, understand how to balance a boat well to make it sail as well as possible, go with Olivier on his boat.
