Your cruise

Embark with Xavier and discover Svalbard. You will depart from Longyearbyen and sail in the footsteps of trappers, whalers and explorers.

Your possible stops during this cruise

Depending on the weather conditions, your wishes and those of the skipper, the programme below can be changed.
(The two trips in May are ski&sailing trips.)

DAY 1: Boarding at the port of Longyearbyen, arrival according to flights. Installation on the sailboat, meeting with the crew. Xavier will remind you of the rules of safety and life on board. Overnight at the port.

DAY 2: Hoist the sails in the direction of Barentsburg. Barentsburg, a former coal mine, was a Soviet colony. You will discover a village frozen in time with industrial architecture, wooden houses and large sheds. Discovery of the village and its surroundings. Return to the boat for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: Heading for Prins Karls Forland Island. Cabotage to find a quiet cove. Stopover, lunch on board. Hiking with your guide through the trails of the Forlandet Natural Park to discover the local fauna and flora. Return to the boat, dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 4: Morning awakening, heading for Ny-Alesund. This city is the observatory of global warming in the Arctic. You will discover the northernmost village in the world, only 30 people live there all year round. Disembark and go for a walk through the deserted moors of Svalbard. Lunch and then hike to discover the surroundings. Return to Ny-Alesund, dinner and overnight on board the sailboat.

DAY 5: Set sail for Krossfjord, towards Nordvest-Spitsbergen National Park. You may see seals and many cetaceans such as whales, belugas, narwhals, killer whales and dolphins. Open your eyes from the observation bubble of the sailboat! With your guide, discover the surroundings, walk along the fjord and admire the beauty of the wild landscapes. Return to the boat, dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 6: Head south and sail through the Forlandsund. From the boat you can admire the sumptuous glaciers of Prins Karls Forland. You can also see old whaling stations dating back to the 17th century. Return to the port of Longyearbyen.

DAY 7: Disembarkation during the day depending on the flights.

If you extend your cruise, you will have the opportunity to discover the surroundings of the city of Pyramiden, Isfjord and Bellsund around the city of Svea.
