Your cruise
Escape to a new destination, the Azores! Come aboard André's sailboat for your 10-day Western Azores Cruise: Central Islands, Corvo and Flores and visit the magnificent Portuguese archipelago, sailing the Central and Western groups.
This trip is dedicated to those who already have sailing experience and are ready to sail further afield. 130 nautical miles separate these two island groups, equivalent to 20 hours of sailing.
On this trip, our priority is to choose the best time to arrive and depart from the Western group, with the weather on our side to ensure a comfortable journey. You'll be amazed by the nature and island reality of Europe's most westerly islands.
Your possible stops during this cruise
DAY 1 - MEETING, BRIEFING AND SAILING
at 11:00 am, you'll meet our entire crew at the world-famous Peter Café Sport in Horta Marina. Then we'll head to the boat and receive a professional briefing on safety and life on board. After settling in on board, we'll have lunch and discuss the plan for the next few days, depending on the weather forecast. We need to cover around 130 nautical miles between the island groups, or 20 hours of sailing. So we'll use the best weather window for long-distance sailing and plan our trip accordingly.
DAY 2 (weather permitting) - ENJOY THE RACE
Feel the freedom of life on a sailboat during the great day and night sailing, enjoy the ocean and the stars!
DAY 3 to 5: VISIT FLORES AND CORVO
These 2 islands, far removed from tourism, are veritable gems of nature!
On Flores, discover the natural pools of Santa Cruz, the beaches of Lajes das Flores or the waterfalls of Poço do Bacalhau, or visit the island's caves.
Corvo is classified as a World Biosphere Reserve by Unesco. Discover its volcano, the windmills of Alto dos Moinhos and its famous church.
DAY 6: SAILING BACK TO GRACIOSA
DAY 7 to 9: DISCOVER GRACIOSA AND SAO JORGE
Discover the island of Graciosa, also known as the White Island, and its famous Caldeira volcano, which offers an exceptional panorama.
Discover Sao Jorge, also known as the island of fajas, shapes formed by a mixture of lava, land and sea. Visit the Fajã do Ouvidor, for example, with its charming houses and natural pools inviting you to take a dip in an exceptional setting, or the Fajã da Caldeira de Santo Cristo, which is well worth a 2-hour hike up the mountainside.
DAY 9 - ARRIVAL IN HORTA, FAIRY ISLAND
We take advantage of the last day of sailing on this trip to head for our last port of call. Later in the day, we'll go out for dinner together and reminisce about the highlights of our trip, discussing and laughing about them, exchanging contacts, photos and experiences.
DAY 10 - TIME FOR GREETINGS
Enjoy our delicious on-board breakfast once again, unfortunately followed by disembarkation at 10.00 am.

You can fly with RyanAir, Sata Airlines, Azores Airlines, Delta Airlines, Transavia or Swiss airlines to Ponta Delgada, the main town on Sao Miguel island, or you can take a direct flight to Horta, depending on your point of departure. from Faial, take a cab to Horta marina, which takes about 15 minutes and costs €15 per trip
The most amazing with this cruise is how much of a perfect, stressless flow the whole trip was. The captain’s experience and weather knowledge allowed us to take advantage of the best time to cross between Horta and Corvo and hop between the islands. Thanks to André, every day we had wonderful experiences and scenery, from Corvo’s spectacular Caldeirao to Flores beautiful waterfall landscape, the majestic Pico with its crown of clouds, the stories from the Ilha de Balena. And all along Rita would pamper us with her delicious cuisine, 100% local ingredients and fruits from friends’ farms. Home-made healthy granola and yoghurt with fresh fruits for breakfast, regional cheese, freshly brewed coffee and tea - this is 5***** level. Owner’s design, the boat was made for blue sailing - whilst it’s an explorer boat, it has all the comfort you need, plus a homey feeling as if your on your friends’ boat. And in the end this is how you feel: a friend.
The organisation was flawless - just perfect.
