⛵ Transatlantic outward journey from Paimpol in France to Ilhéus in Brazil:
stage 1 - Embarkation in Paimpol, France (December 1, 2024)
Rendezvous at the port of Paimpol in Brittany at 9:00 a.m. to board the traditional sailboat. after settling aboard and a safety briefing, you'll set sail! A gentle start to the transatlantic journey as you sail along the Brittany coast, with a possible stopover in Camaret-sur-mer. This will allow you to wait for a weather window for the big crossing.

stage 2 - Heading for the Canaries
It's D-Day, time to get ready for the big crossing! The goal is to reach the Canary Islands. In principle, stopovers last between 1 and 3 days. Take advantage of these stopovers to take a break, recharge your batteries and discover some of the destination's secrets. Of course, don't forget to stock up on food and provisions.
NB: depending on weather conditions, the winds may encourage you to head straight for Cape Verde without passing through the Canaries.

stage 3 - Heading for Cape Verde
Resume navigation towards the famous Cape Verde. A symbolic last stop in the Northern Hemisphere.

stage 4 - Crossing the equator
on board, the dignitaries (those who have already crossed the imaginary line) will offer you a special ceremony to celebrate this crossing. On the program: emotion, laughter and, of course, a drink in tribute to Neptune!

stage 5 - Land in sight!
Gradually after the "doldrums" (the inter-tropical convergence zone), the seabirds will reappear, the water will change color and the land will reveal itself...

stage 6 - Landing at Ilhéus, Brazil
You'll reach land in mid-January 2025 (estimate as of 14/01/2025 - 7:00 pm), having covered almost 4750 nautical miles, or nearly 8800 kilometers! Disembarkation will take place in Ilhéus, Brazil (south of Salvador). Once there, a new adventure begins with a visit to a cocoa plantation, the discovery of a chocolate factory and the loading of 10 tons of cocoa for the return crossing.
Practical information: after arrival, you can stay on board for one or two nights (at no extra cost) to organize your return to dry land.

Parties aboard the traditional sailing ship:
During the transatlantic crossing, you'll be sure to celebrate Christmas and New Year's Day. On the festive menu: a meal worthy of New Year's Eve, complete with champagne! And with THE question on everyone's lips: "Is Santa Claus coming?" Mystery... See you on board to find out 😉 | PS: there's no fireplace on the boat.

NB: depending on weather conditions, the winds may prompt you to head straight for Guiana without passing through the Fernando de Noronha islands.
