Your possible stops during this cruise
Catamaran harbor maneuvering weekend course in Hyères.
This course, organized from Hyeres, is ideal for learning to sail with confidence and mastering the essential techniques of engine maneuvering. For two days, you'll be guided by experienced professionals who will be with you every step of the way.
The adventure begins on Friday evening, at 7:00 pm, when you arrive in port to board your yacht.
You'll be welcomed by the skipper and crew, and given the opportunity to settle in comfortably on board.
After an initial convivial meal in the restaurant (not included in the price), you'll spend your first night on the water, ready to begin this weekend rich in discovery.
What you'll learn:
- Understanding the engine and controls: Before you start maneuvering, it's essential to know how the catamaran's engine and controls work. You'll learn how to start and stop the engine, use the steering controls, and adjust power for smooth sailing.
-managing the catamaran's speed and inertia: Unlike a smaller boat, a catamaran has great inertia, which means it doesn't react immediately to commands. You'll learn to anticipate its movements, adjust your speed to avoid jerks, and use the engines independently to turn efficiently.
-approach and departure techniques: Entering and leaving a port or anchorage requires precision. You'll practice different approach techniques, depending on the wind and current, and learn how to leave a dock or pontoon safely.
-mooring the catamaran: Once you've arrived at your destination, you'll need to secure the boat to keep it in place. You'll learn about the different mooring methods, how to use mooring lines and fenders, and how to adapt your mooring to harbor conditions.
-anchoring technique: If you're spending the night at sea, it's crucial to choose the right place to drop anchor. You'll learn how to identify a good anchorage, how to lower and raise the anchor correctly, and how to check that the boat stays securely in place despite wind and current.
Whether you're a beginner or you'd like to perfect your skills, this course will give you the solid foundations you need to sail serenely and maneuver with confidence.
