Your cruise
in the cabin or privatized, come aboard for an immersive sailing experience.
This course gives you a hands-on introduction to life on board and the fundamentals of coastal sailing, with openings to semi-high seas depending on conditions.
Accompanied by a professional skipper, you'll learn how to maneuver safely, understand the onboard equipment, trim the sails and use the navigation electronics.
Your possible stops during this cruise
This coastal to semi-offshore sailing course offers several possible itineraries, based on sailing conditions, the weather, the group's wishes and the skipper's recommendations.
Each option enables you to make progress in navigation while discovering emblematic and contrasting areas of the Atlantic coastline.
Westward - towards Camaret and the Iroise Sea
Progressive sailing westwards, passing through the Glénan archipelago, renowned for its clear waters, sandy seabed and sheltered anchorages, making it an ideal first stopover. The route then continues along the more rugged Finistère coast to Camaret, at the entrance to Brest harbor, famous for its bustling port and famous Vauban tower.
Depending on conditions, the route can be extended to the Iroise Sea, a more open and mineral environment, marked by lighthouses, steady currents and often rougher seas.
On this itinerary, participants can practice sail trimming, pace management, reading currents and tides, weather forecasting, as well as course keeping and on-board coordination.
Offshore - to the Iroise Sea
This itinerary is geared towards more committed sailing, with progress towards more open areas. After a possible passage through the Glénan, the sailing gains in intensity as we head towards the Iroise Sea, offering varied and often more dynamic conditions.
This area, renowned for its raw seascapes and changing light, offers an experience closer to ocean sailing, while remaining in a coastal setting.
This itinerary is particularly well-suited to work on: on-board organization, watch management, navigation over longer periods, use of electronics (GPS, plotter, AIS), as well as decision-making based on actual conditions.
Heading south-east - towards Ile d'Yeu
Sailing along the south coast of Brittany, passing through Groix, Belle-Île, Houat or Hoëdic, offering a wide variety of landscapes between islands, beaches, cliffs and sheltered areas. Heading south, you'll then reach the island of Yeu, renowned for its unspoilt character, typical harbors and rocky coastline.
This itinerary combines coastal navigation with more open stretches, at a generally gentler pace that encourages discovery.
In particular, it gives you the opportunity to practice: harbor and anchorage maneuvers, island-to-island navigation, chart reading, route selection, managing harbor entrances and exits, and adapting to local conditions.
