The skipper

Set sail with Jean-Pol aboard a catamaran Lagoon 450 to southern Corsica.

What is your motto ?

When work is a passion, it’s a pleasure to be shared.

How did you come to do this job?

My two passions are skiing and sailing. I made them my jobs. I started skiing when I was three. I fell in to a boat when I was five. I used to be a small sail boat instructor, then larger boats, and then conveyance from port to port. It seemed natural to get my qualifications to push my passion further and to start out on my own.

What people say about you?

JEAN POL = J for joyful, E for efficient, A for amity, N for natural, P for patient, O for observant and L for ludic!

Life on a journey

Your style of practice?

Clients are, first and foremost, on holiday. If they come to a skipper it’s to discover a new way of being on holiday. But there are important rules. The sea is vast and deep! Security is vital, but it need not “suffocate” the clients. As a wise sailor once said: “one hand for you, and one for the boat.” Clients get to choose life aboard during the cruise, (during their holidays!): the time they get up, the time for meals, what they eat; but a disorderly boat is a dangerous boat. Two things to keep in mind: we are not linked to land by an electricity cable or a fresh water pipeline! I always keep an eye on that so that we never run out.
