The skipper

Set sail with Eric on a yacht cruise departing from Saint-Malo!

What is your motto ?

My major life choice? Life on the sea.

How did you come to do this job?

I have been sailing since the age of 10, I have always sailed for pleasure, especially small tours on smaller boats. In 2005 I did the Transat 650 before passing my professional sailing diploma.

What people say about you?

That I'm a friendly simple guy.

Life on a journey

Your best memory ?

There are so many. It's difficult to name just one. The arrival of the Transat at Salvador de Bayaau in Brazil was memorable. Every arrival is magic. Departure is obviously always magnificent but so is arriving. When the Transat arrived – the crew had really bonded and our time in Brazil had a great sense of camaraderie. The 1st Caïpirinhia was delicious (laughs).

For you, what is a successful sea trip?

When I see people get off the boat with huge smiles on their faces and where everybody has bonded during the cruise. I like to see everybody leave with a smile. If there's one person who isn't smiling by the end, the cruise has been a failure. People should have no regrets.

Your style of practice?
