You're not born a sailor, you become a sailor
I had my first sailing experience at primary school but I didn't pick it up again until I was thirty. I first started working for the community with the Brest Nautical Centre, then as an instructor of light yachts for various Breton organisations. After 10 years of loyal service as director of a sailing club in Finistere, managing its school, school trips and the holiday centre, I decided to create my own sailing company in 2012 and have since sailed the equivalent of several times around the world.
That the way I explain things, teach things and encourage a sense of responsibility helps people to understand how a boat works and its environment. Patience and cheery disposition are also character traits people often cite.
Life on a journey
Sailing up the Atlantic and English Channel in a duo on a 15-metre boat built of various wood types in the year of my birth (1965). As we sailed into the Channel there was strong easterly wind and the arrival in Tréberdun was magnificent. Adventure begins at home.
When, because of the experience, someone on board discovers something they were looking for deep inside and says they're going to take up sailing as a result.
