The skipper

A professional skipper and competitive man, Andrès acquired his classic Bermudian sloop in 2013 which he'll take you on to the Mediterranean, on a cruise or to take part in some of the most beautiful classic sailing regattas on the AFYT (French Association of Traditional Yachts) circuits.

What is your motto ?

What separates dreams from reality is action!

How did you come to do this job?

I've always sailed. Since childhood. Today my work is in harmony with my passion :)

What people say about you?

hey say of me that I am a didactic person, easy and very open. The different languages I speak allow me to convey my passion for sailing, for the sea and for my boat.

To know about you, apart from your job?

A trained journalist, father of 3 small sailors, a teacher who kept at me for 8 years until my French was perfect

Life on a journey

Your best memory ?

The Ladies regattas in St. Tropez in 2015. The girls were completely novices in regattas and did not know each other, in addition to coming from different countries/horizons. In spite of these conditions which could have represented a handicap in a competition, they formed an enthusiastic group, that was very solid and communicative, which still stands strong today ... and above all, they won!

For you, what is a successful sea trip?

A successful regatta is when crew members form a united team where everyone has contributed in the pleasure of sailing together. If we finish the race on the podium ... then that's the icing on the cake!

Your style of practice?

Safety and tranquillity. The important thing is for everyone to enjoy themselves and share this experience with the other passengers. The boat is very powerful (22 tons of displacement) For the regattas we do a long safety briefing then 1 to 2 days of training before the races. During the regatta, I will explain to you, depending on your level, how to sail and carry out manoeuvres and the 3 other crew members on board are there to guide you! For cruises, relaxing and learning are the key words :)
