The skipper

Embark with Sylvain - Destination Greece for a sailboat cruise

What is your motto ?

Safety first! And above all, fun!

How did you come to do this job?

I have been sailing on Lake Geneva since my childhood. From 2007 to 2012 I travelled with my partner on my Contessa 32 from Port Camargue to New Zealand via Patagonia. When I got home I decided to spend my Yacht Master off-shore. I have several experiences as a skipper on private yachts and catamarans. In 2016 we set out again at sea with our Greyhound of the Seas 16 but the arrival of our little boy made us change our plans. After having lived 3 years on the yacht in Greece we decided to move to Greece and create a company. For this we sold our Greyhound and bought a Salona 44.

What people say about you?

Very quiet, pleasant and competent in all types of weather.

To know about you, apart from your job?

I am a nurse and educator, I like to share my knowledge and experiences with young and less young people... I like to tinker, read, snorkel and windsurf... I live today in Syros with my son and my wife.

Life on a journey

Your best memory ?

Patagonia, Toamotu and Minerva Reef during my trip on my Contessa 32

For you, what is a successful sea trip?

Pleasure, relaxation, sailing and calm anchorage.

Your style of practice?

Sporty and serene, a lot of fun under sail!
