Embark with Istvan, professional skipper and discover the Greek islands by sea. Magic moment!
The pleasure of sailing in complete safety.
I fell into it as a child! When I was barely a year old, my parents decided to buy a 15-metre aluminium sailboat and go on an adventure... I grew up on this sailboat between Greece and Turkey. My parents taught me on board, by correspondence. As a teenager, I was already helping my father on new sailboats and catamarans, all over Europe, so that from the age of 17 I was offered my first charter as a pro skipper in Greece. In 2009 my parents decided to return to France after having lived 18 years on board the family sailboat, while I wanted to stay in Greece. Since then I have continued the charter seasons in summer and the delivery of new boats in winter. To be honest, I just discovered snow and snowboarding 3 years ago... in the Greek mountains!
People say I'm calm and reassuring, that I never panic. The sea teaches us that patience. I never scream either. I have also often heard that I am very smiling and funny, too;) I really like to share my passion and give roles to my teammates (for those who want to participate) but I can of course sail my boat alone, even if it's not really the spirit of a sailing cruise on a boat of this size. My sense of crew is also the reason why I didn't stay on the tallest sailboats where crew and guests don't mix.
I speak French, English, Turkish and a little Italian and Greek.
Life on a journey
All my sailing cruises in Greece!
For a sailing cruise to be successful, it must remain simple. It is certainly important to make a planning at the start and to adapt it as much as possible to the expectations and desires of my crew, but without setting a too rigid itinerary. The most beautiful days at sea have always been those organised that very morning, around a good breakfast. Having practiced this profession in these waters for more than a decade, I learned to decipher the desires of my crews, anticipating wishes that they were not necessarily able to formulate themselves, pleasantly surprising them when I designed activities adapted to the rhythm and conditions of the moment.
My sailing style is simply to adapt my itinerary to the state of the wind, the sea and above all to the two radically different areas that I offer during the cruise. Either the Saronic golf course nicknamed "the lake" or "the highway", where navigation and swimming are pleasant. I have my secret coves, the landscapes are perfect and cultural tourism offers a icing on the cake... Another choice, the Cyclades and their Meltem for a sporty navigation, refreshing certainly, but in a more rugged sea with long distances between the islands. A less frequented itinerary that gives an increased sense of adventure.
