The skipper

Sail away with Xavier on his catamaran for a magnificent day cruise. Xavier lives in Guadeloupe and will be delighted to show you the marvels of the archipelago all year around.

What is your motto ?

Scything through the sea spume and savouring the sensations.

How did you come to do this job?

After sailing with my family as a teenager and a long journey to the Red Sea and Indian Ocean in a crew, at the age of 25 I decided to build my own monohull. I went on to travel the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean and got to experience the many facets of skipper-dom – charter cruises observing undersea life, conveyance, maintenance and yacht repair. After returning to France for several years, I started a family, passed my national skipper diploma and launched a new project organizing catamaran cruises in Guadeloupe.

What people say about you?

According to my guest book I am, "discreet, generous and passionate about what I do. I'm kind, relaxed and calm."

To know about you, apart from your job?

Sailing provides moments of companionship, sharing and adventure. I can always tell that my crew is moved by their experiences at sea.

Life on a journey

Your best memory ?

My best memory is a moment of total plenitude in the middle of the Indian Ocean with my children aged 1-3 during an Atlantic crossing.

For you, what is a successful sea trip?

C’est un moment de convivialité, de partage et de découverte, et quand je sens que les passagers ont été touchés par leur expérience en mer.

Your style of practice?

Sailing away in harmony with nature. My catamaran cruises are a rare opportunity to experience something beautiful, replete with discovery, adventure, relaxation and getting away from the daily grind.
