Your cruise
The Aeolian Islands, located north of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea, are 7 islands of volcanic origin: Alicudi, Filicudi, Panarea, Stromboli, Salina, Lipari and Vulcano.
This multi-faceted archipelago was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. We recommend departing from Portorosa to embark on a sailing and hiking program at the foot of this superb archipelago!
An ideal itinerary combining beautiful sailing, superb hiking in the heart of the volcanoes and, of course, plenty of swimming. To find out more about the Aeolian Islands, click here
Your possible stops during this cruise
A sample itinerary for the Aeolian Islands cruise: The examples of hikes are of course optional, so do as you please!
Day 1: Milazzo.
Arrival at the marina. Welcome to the yacht by your skipper from 5pm.
Day 2: Lipari
Morning departure for the island of Lipari, around 5 hours' sailing away. Once there, lunch on board and a swim. At the end of the day, enjoy a stroll through the town's narrow streets. The old port is one of the island's most beautiful and popular spots, with a lively main street and numerous pubs offering live music!
Day 3: Vulcano
Sail for 2 hours in the morning, heading for Vulcano. You can take advantage of lunchtime to relax and swim. Then set off to discover the island and its famous volcano. This 4-hour hike will take you to Vulcano's large crater. You'll then climb up to the crater and discover an incredible lunar landscape: you'll observe the crater's fumaroles and the breathtaking panorama.
Day 4 and 5: Stromboli
Morning sail to Stromboli, lasting around 2 hours. Today, Stromboli is Europe's most active volcano, erupting every hour, and sometimes every 15 minutes! You can set off on a hike to discover the volcano, accompanied by a professional guide. The walk may be a little tiring, but the surrounding scenery will compensate for your effort! At the summit, you'll witness an impressive spectacle: smoke, rumbling explosions and sprays of hot matter.
Day 6: Salina
Morning departure for a 2-hour sail to the island of Salina. Swimming and lunch on arrival. Afternoon stroll along the Leni-Pollara itinerary, one of the most beautiful in the Aeolian Islands. Depart from the village of Leni, following a path between ancient terraces of centuries-old olive trees. Arriving in Vallespina, you climb up to Pizzo Corvo, one of the archipelago's oldest volcanoes, from where you can admire the islands of Alicudi and Filicudi. The descent of the mountain passes through dense vegetation, with a beautiful view of the crater, in which lies the village of Pollara. Transfers to Leni and back from Pollara are by public bus.
Day 7: Return to Milazzo.
A great day's sailing back to your marina, allow around 8 hours. Arrival late afternoon or early evening.
Day 8: Disembarkation before 9 a.m.
