Discover Corsica on board Lionel's yacht! A professional skipper and lover of the Isle of Beauty, he is the ideal captain to give you an unforgettable holiday!
Whether you're a beginner or a more experienced sailor, Lionel can adapt to any level so that this shared cruise around Corsica is a real success.
You'll alternate between sailing, open anchoring in idyllic coves, and exploring the coastline.
You'll climb on board in Ajaccio. The birthplace of Napoleon, this capital has had an exciting history. Click here to find out more!
Lionel offers two routes leaving from Ajaccio. The first ones to reserve this cruise will be able to choose. You'll either sail towards Calvi, in the northern part of Corsica, or along the coastline to the south, towards Bonifacio. Click here to see a map of Corsica.
Your skipper will also give you the chance to change the programme to suit your preferences if everyone on board is in agreement.
If you sail along the coastline towards the north (option 1), you'll probably make a stop in the marina of Cargèse. This picturesque village has had an exciting history. In the seventeenth century, a Greek colony settled in the village. Two churches, one in the Latin rite and one in the Greek, now face each other and are testament to this Greek influence.
During your journey along the Corsican coastline, you'll discover the Scandola Nature Reserve. This reserve, both on land and at sea, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy the amazing landscapes and discover the protected biodiversity in this incredible environment.
Further to the north, you'll sail through the Calanques de Piana. Also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, these rocky inlets will dazzle you with their beauty. Before reaching Calvi you'll discover Galéria and the magnificent bay of Crovani.
Lionel then suggests making a stop at the Calvi Citadel before starting the return to Ajaccio.
Throughout this cruise your professional skipper will share his passion with you and will be able to teach you about the different technical aspects of sailing. Steering the boat, manoeuvres, adjusting the sails... You can take part in everything if you want! Whatever your level, Lionel can adapt to everyone!
If, with the other passengers, you've decided to sail towards the southern part of Corsica (option 2), you'll also have the chance to discover breathtaking landscapes around the Isle of Beauty. (It's not a coincidence that the island is also known as this...)
During this shared cruise, you'll be able to visit several small, isolated coves around the Senetosa headland. Take advantage of these coves to enjoy dips in the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. Relax on the soft sand of these beaches which are totally sheltered from view.
If you wish to discover the charm of Corsican villages, stop in Porto Pollo to enjoy an unobstructed view over the Valinco Gulf. Tizzano will also charm you with its authenticity. Life in this tiny village is centred around its adorable fishing harbour which has seduced all explorers who have come to visit. A tip from the Skippair seagull: Have lunch on the terrace of one of the village's restaurants and enjoy a freshly caught fish from one of the local fishermen!
You'll then be able to stop along the coastline to explore, visit and discover the treasures of the Corsican coast. Amongst others you'll discover the Domaine de Murtoli, the Bay of Arbitru or the Lion of Roccapina. To find out more about this natural sculpture, click here.
Finally you'll sail with the wind towards the picturesque town of Bonifacio. This town is full of art and history, with its citadel built on a limestone cliff overlooking the sea. Take advantage of this stop to visit some of the countless historical sites in this picturesque town.
Guided by your skipper, you'll then hoist the sails to return to Ajaccio where you'll disembark at the end of the week.
Embark with Lionel to discover Corsica. Described as being educational and a people-person, he will share his passion with you so you can have an unforgettable time at sea. Have so much fun sailing in Corsica with Lionel!
Harmony between men and women is a challenge within our reach. To all of us. I want to embody this "captain" of knowing how to live well; live with and for others, a moment of grace close to this island of Beauty.
