The skipper
I'm a ferryman. On a boat, every voyage is a story, and I like to tell a story to my crew, to give them an unforgettable experience.
I've been immersed in the maritime world since I was a kid. When I was on vacation, I used to help my father fish by pulling on nets and traps. Then I passed my maritime certificate, and spent a year on board a trawler. But I soon switched to sailing, and I've been sailing the world's seas and oceans for nearly 30 years now. My favorite playground is the northern seas: the Channel Islands, England and even further north, Norway!
People feel good on board. My boat gives them all the comfort and space they need, and my experience gives them all the security they expect. And generally speaking, since we talk a lot and have a good laugh, people think I'm pretty cool!
Life on a journey
I have hundreds of them, so it's hard to decide! I have wonderful memories of cruising in the north, surrounded by walruses and polar bears!
When people's feedback is rave reviews! I love it when a cruise is an unforgettable adventure every time!
I like people to feel at home quickly. The most important thing is to make them feel safe and secure, so I sail with a second professional sailor to assist me. Then, little by little, I explain to the rest of the crew the few maneuvers and manipulations they can do, so that everyone can get to grips with the rudiments of the boat, and understand the spirit of sailing. I like to share my know-how, and to see a crew evolve and take more and more pleasure aboard my boat. Generally speaking, I prefer to stop at anchorages rather than ports. That's where you have the best time, and where the crew brings back the best memories. Of course, I also offer turnkey cruises, where the crew can leave the skipper to his or her own devices and rely on two professional sailors. I also like themed cruises, where the boat is big enough to welcome other disciplines on board, cultural or otherwise. For example, we once had a painting teacher and his pupils on board, and every time they anchored, he gave them a painting lesson on the beach! I'm open to any proposal of this kind, because I think that's what people like more and more, to combine the pleasure of sailing with another passion.
