Your dive First experience Madeira
Seize the opportunity to discover unknown worlds and the seabed of Madeira, thanks to this discovery pack which includes 2 try dives. Diving is much easier than you think! Attention, as soon as you have tested this activity, it is impossible not to want to start again. You are warned! The schedule of these dives is flexible: it can be done on one or two days.
This offer begins with a theoretical session about scuba diving, how to use the equipment and the safety rules. The first dive takes place in the beautiful natural pool of Quinta do Lorde. This will be the opportunity to apprehend the equipment. For the second dive, you will go to one of the many spots in the region : the reef of Caniçal. The maximum depth is 12 meters. Your instructor will accompany you step by step, from the theoretical session to your return on land, where you will leave with your SSI dive log.
Caniçal House Reef
A few steps from the shore and the center, this wonderful dive spot, sheltered from the wind, is awaiting. This spot is perfect for try dives as it is easy but very lovely, with a balance between rocky and sandy bottoms. You will see amazinf species like octopi, cuttlefishes, barracudas, stingrays, morray eels, eagle eels and so much more. If you are lucky enough, you may encounter with monk seals that are coming more and more often.

By car, take the "Via Rapida" towards Machico then follow Ponta Sao Lourenco. After Canical, the Marina will be indicated and the base is right next to the hotel Quinta do Lorde Resort on the right. From Funchal it takes 20-25 minutes. By bus it is very easy to get to the base of Madeira. Take the bus 113 and stop at Abra Bay
The course was very focused on some basic diving techniques with some explanations and tests in the pool beforehand, which were very useful to follow the group and feel comfortable in the water. No ray this day :-(
