First dive on a wreck in Porquerolles

Initiate yourself to diving on one of the magnificent spots around the island of Porquerolles. The turquoise water, the marine fauna and flora and the beautiful sunshine of the Golden Islands make it a perfect place for a first diving experience. Luc will be your instructor for your first dive in Porquerolles. In the islands of Hyères, Porquerolles is an ideal Riviera jewel for diving with its rich marine fauna.

You board for 2 to 3 hours at sea. Departures are made either at 9am or 2pm from the Port of La Capte. Luc will explain how all the equipment works and help you get ready for this first diving experience. Enjoy the sea trip to Porquerolles: the coast is beautifully revealed! Once you get to the spot and everyone is comfortable, you will get into the water. The dive lasts about twenty minutes and you will not go deeper than 6 meters. At this depth you will already find fish of all colours and beautiful underwater plants for a total immersion in the underwater world. Cap des Médès

On the north-eastern tip of Porquerolles, Cap des Mèdes is a perfect diving spot for a try or exploration dive within the local rocks strewn with posidonia. Protected from the wind, there is little current in this spot of 25 meters deep, where you can move around from rock to rock. The flora is a reflection of the fairly diverse region with small red gorgonians, yellow anemone walls and many orange sponges. As for the wildlife, you will meet octopusses, beautiful wreaths peacocks, wrasses, pomfrets and apogons.

Cimentier shipwreck

This is Porquerolles' big secret: when and how the Cimentier sank ? According to the rumour, the German army sank it on purpose during Wold War II. This is one of the only wrecks accessible for a try dive, because it is protected from the wind and waves. The boat can be seen for 3 to 15 meters underwater. Inside, some groupers can be observed, with some other species like wrasses, pomfrets and squids at the beginning of spring.
