With whom do you sail ?

our 5 best experiences

EXPERIENCE 1 : Go for a nomadic travel

Even if there are more than a hundred islands in the Cyclades, only 24 are inhabited! This explains why the boat is the best transport mean to visit the archipelago.

Besides going to the main islands, the cruise will give you the opportunity to visit outer islands and even approach uninhabited places, for a more intimate getaway, far less touristic.

As you cruise from island-to-island, you will have many occasions to jump off the boat deck or a swim. And, at the end of the day, a sailboat cruise is the best way to enjoy a beautiful sunset, especially at Oia, on Santorini island. The plus : you are likely to encounter dolphins on the journey!

EXPERIENCE 2 : Take amazing pictures thanks to the beautifully diverse landscapes

Every Cycladic island is different and has its own soul, appeal. From a sailboat, you will enjoy an incredible sightseeing over the quiet small towns which represent the Cycladic architecture, the heavenly coves, the cliffs that fall into the Aegean sea, and in the background the lapping of the azure sea.

The Cyclades are a volcanic area, which means that the numerous eruptions have shaped the landscape. Santorini demonstrates this phenomenon with its crescent-shaped caldeira. As well, Folegandros and some other islands, offers a rugged beautiful landscape, very pleasant from the deck of a boat.

At Andros, unlike the rest of the archipelago, the countryside is so green that we could fool ourselves and think that we are in Toscani!

For a varied landscape with mountains, large white sandy beaches, picturesque villages, green valleys, set sail for Naxos.

EXPERIENCE 3 : Try the local dishes

Like the rest of Greece, the Cyclades offer lots of gourmet specialities, with many flavours. Every island has its own delicacies, even if one dish wins unanimous support : grilled fish, of course!

Santorini has the particularity to make good wine, known to be the best in Greece. However, the vines grow weirdly as they grow horizontally, whereas they are supposed to grow vertically. The island also cultivates capers, often used in the mediterranean gastronomy and notably in the famous Greek salad.

As for the sweets, the Cyclades are known to make sesame crust and almond shortbread. We look forward to trying these...

EXPERIENCE 4 : Enjoy life the way Greeks do

Holidays also mean resting and the Cyclades are the perfect place to disconnect and relax, especially for idleness enthusiasts. And the Greeks have clearly understood that, as idleness is a part of their daily routine !

One of their favourite activity is simply to enjoy the omnipresent sun. And the best way to do that is to bask in a sunny terrace, alongside with a glass of iced coffee, a very appreciated drink consumed at every hour of the day.

EXPERIENCE 5 : Make a varied travel, between culture, hiking & parties

From a cultural & historical stance, a trip to the Cyclades worths it! Delos is the very proof of the rich culture with its archeological site, temple of the history of the area. The nearby island, Mykonos the boiling city, will please party lovers, as well as Ios and Paros.

For hiking enthusiasts, the Cyclades is the ideal spot to make long walks on the numerous pedestrians paths. Go for a walk in Naxos the Cave of Zeus or Tinos & Amorgos islands!

Beach lovers will enjoy the archipelago very much with the multitude of coves. By the way, we strongly advise to spend a few hours in Sarakiniko beach in Milos, which kind of looks like the moon, and also the red beach of Santorini. Apart from swimming, you can practice scuba diving in the rich marina fauna. There are diving spots all over the Cyclades!

Otherwise, most islands have an authentic city centre that worths the visit. Aside from Oia, the famous town of Santorini, walk around Apollonia, the most important city of Sifnos island, or Mykonos. If you are lucky, you might see the icon of the city, the pelican!

In a few words, in the Cyclades, everyone will find what he is looking for as there are multiple activities & things to see, for all taste and age.
