Your cruise
in a cabin or privatized, embark on an immersive offshore sailing experience departing from Larmor-Plage.
Accompanied by a professional skipper, you'll discover life aboard a blue-water cruiser and the fundamentals of offshore sailing: safe maneuvers, sail trim, use of onboard equipment, navigation electronics, weather, routing and crew organization.
This course is designed to enable you to make concrete progress, at the pace of the boat and the conditions encountered, while enjoying a real sea experience over several days.
Your possible stops during this cruise
This 12 to 15-day offshore training cruise is built around two main itineraries: a sail to Ireland or a sail to Spain.
The choice of destination will be made at the beginning of the course, according to weather and sea conditions, the trainees' wishes, the crew's progress and the skipper's recommendations. The aim is to follow a coherent, formative route, adapted to current conditions.
Ports of call are given for information only.
There are two possible directions:
Heading for Ireland: offshore sailing to the northwest, crossing the English Channel or the Celtic Sea. This option allows you to discover a demanding navigation, marked by tides, maritime traffic, weather changes and the approach of wild Atlantic coasts.
Head for Spain: a southerly route, crossing the Bay of Biscay. This option offers a great offshore immersion experience, with long hours at sea, watch organization and a possible arrival on the Spanish coast, in a more southern atmosphere.
In both cases, the course begins with a phase of getting to grips with the boat and mooring the crew. The first sailings will enable you to familiarize yourself with the boat, maneuvers, trimming, safety and life on board.
The rest of the program will focus on offshore sailing:
- Route planning and map reading.
- Monitoring the weather and adapting to conditions.
- Helm, watch and sail trim.
- Participation in maneuvers.
- Organization of day and night watches.
- Collective management of life on board.
Whether the boat is heading for Ireland or Spain, this cruise is designed to be a real offshore sailing experience: learning, participating, progressing and living the boat's rhythm over several days at sea.
