Your cruise

Set sail from Marina of Baotić, Croatia

Enjoy a week of gentle cruising in Croatia aboard a spacious catamaran.
During the cruise, you'll enjoy the most beautiful ports of call in Croatia and the Dalmatian Islands.
Rendezvous in Trogir for a week of relaxation at the Croatian pace!

Your possible stops during this cruise

Below is a sample itinerary for your cabin cruise in Croatia: catamaran and full board in the Dalmatian Islands.
It can be modified according to weather conditions.

DAY 1 - Saturday: boarding the catamaran (sailing time: 1h30).
Meet at 6:00 pm at Marina Baotić near Trogir to embark. Once you've settled in and been reminded of the rules of life and safety, you'll hoist the sails for a short sail to Maslinica, a small fishing village on the island of Solta. You'll be amazed by its calm and typical charm, as well as its crystal-clear waters and white sandy beach. Enjoy an aperitif on the terrace of the Martinis-Marchis fortress (own expense). Night and dinner at anchor in the bay.

DAY 2 - Sunday: Palmizana (sailing time: 2h45).
after a morning swim, you'll set sail again for the island of Palmizana in the Pakleni archipelago. Here, you can indulge in the water sport of your choice (paddle, kayak, snorkeling) or relax on the beach. In the afternoon, visit the Meneghello family's exotic botanical garden. A Garden of Eden where you'll find olive trees, laurel, rosemary, mimosa, cactus and hundreds of species of rare plants. Alternatively, you can take a water cab to visit the island of Hvar. discover the city's mix of styles. In the evening, overnight and dinner at anchor on the island of Palmizana.

DAY 3 - Monday: Vis (sailing time: 1h30).
On this third day of cruising, you'll set sail for the island of Vis. The most remote of the Dalmatian islands, and one of the highest at 580 meters above sea level! After a delicious lunch, you'll head off to Smokova Bay, nicknamed "the survivors' beach" by the Croatians. Here, you'll discover a long sandy beach bordered by divine turquoise water. In the afternoon, you'll head off to a new cove, nestled in Zaglav Bay. Spend the evening at anchor, dinner on board and another night on the water.

DAY 4 - Tuesday: Budikovic - Biševo (sailing time 2h15).
Wake up in Zaglav Bay before a short sail to the Blue Lagoon on the island of Budikovac (near Vis). An ideal spot to enjoy breakfast and take your first morning dip (paddle, kayak and snorkeling are also available!). Once you've had breakfast, you're off again, this time to Biševo, the small island next to Vis. From the boat, you'll contemplate a parade of high cliffs, caves and beaches, where it's not necessarily possible to drop anchor. You will, however, stop near the "Monk Seal" cave, which you can admire from the catamaran. In the evening, you'll tour this small Dalmatian island before dinner and overnight at the Salbunara anchorage.

DAY 5 - Wednesday: Vis (sailing time: 2h30).
Sailing resumes after breakfast towards the island of Vis. To start the day, you'll drop anchor on the north side of the island near an underwater tunnel. An ideal spot for lunch. Then in the afternoon, you'll drop anchor again, this time near the old town of Vis, one of Croatia's oldest city centers. Come ashore for a stroll through the streets with their Mediterranean charm of yesteryear, sit back and enjoy a coffee on the terrace, relax and let the Croatian magic take over. Dinner and overnight on board the catamaran.

DAY 6 - Thursday: Hvar (sailing time: 3h30).
Head for Hvar! You'll set sail for the island of Palmizana, before heading northeast to Duga Bay on the island of Hvar. This is the first stop for lunch. Then, the crystal-clear waters invite you to take a dip or enjoy water sports of all kinds: paddle, kayak, snorkeling - the choice is yours. Then you'll head east again to reach Tiha Bay, a site well sheltered from the winds and just as ideal for water sports. All day long, you'll be diving in crystal-clear waters - a real pleasure. In the evening, dinner and overnight on board in Tiha Bay.

DAY 7 - Friday: Stari Grad and Trogir (sailing time: 5h30).
It's time to head for Trogir... On the way, enjoy a stopover on the quayside of Stari Grad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Europe's second oldest city. Stroll ashore to discover its rich history and culture. Historic monuments, a Dominican monastery, colorful streets, vineyards and olive groves are all part of the authentic charm of a town that will remain etched in your memory. Enjoy an early lunch before setting sail for Trogir. Of course, don't miss a swim on the island of Ciovo. After dinner, we recommend you go ashore to visit the so-called "Croatian Venice". Trogir is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you'll soon see why. Here's a hint: everything here is magnificent!

DAY 8 - Saturday: Disembarkation
After enjoying your last breakfast on board the catamaran, it's time to disembark at the original Baotić marina near Trogir. This is officially the end of your cruise in Croatia.

The cruise

Generator of the boat was broken down since day 1. The itinerary was changed significantly, less than 10% of the listed destinations was visited. There was only one overnight anchorage throughout the trip. Unexpected stop at split marina for 2 days and the company was not helping us at all during the trip. Cannot empty the waste tank at marina so the hygienic condition was compromised. We had to terminate the trip early in the middle of the trip and book very expensive hotels for the rest of our trip. We also had to arrange our own tour to replace the destinations we missed. The skipper’s attitude was problematic as he blamed specific people for using too much water on the boat at marina, and also turned off the shower pump at the toilet without notification. My partner only found that out when there was overflow of waste water at the shower soaking her feet and water flowing into the cabin, the waste water also backed up into neighbour’s shower drain causing a puddle. When we brought this matter to the skipper, he was VERY dismissive, was not serious or sincere, and he was still laughing about that. We made a video footage because of this. On day 2, we asked the skipper that whether monk seals were spotted in the monk seal cave. Apparently, the monk seal cave was in the itinerary, but he did not know where it was and what we talked about, so we were not going there. It’s very concerning that the skipper appeared to be not knowledgeable about the local attractions nor the advertised itinerary.

The skipper

Absolute chaos. The trip is an absolute nightmare with mostly sufferings than anything else. The whole boat of passengers were forced to go from marinas to marinas without any backup plans from the company. There is no evidence that the company would attempt to change the situation during the trip. The only feedback we got from them were official answers such as “we will deal with the problem as soon as possible”. It was to my great dismay that the general manager company said that he did not know our location but he mentioned earlier that he worked the whole morning to find the technician to come to our boat.

Best memories

There was a nice and friendly chef, but nothing more than that. Strictly speaking, it wasn’t a cruise, but a holiday spent in marinas filled with disappointments and suffering.
