Your cruise
Join Thierry on an unforgettable cruise to the Isle of Wight. From Barneville-Carteret, sail across the English Channel to discover the chalk cliffs of this mythical island. Once ashore, you'll discover the charm of this small English island. No cruises planned except on express request with a minimum of 5 people.
Your possible stops during this cruise
On this cruise, you'll discover the Isle of Wight and the surrounding area!
First, you'll cross the Raz Blanchard, known for its powerful currents, to Alderney, the most northerly of the Channel Islands. After a night's rest in Braye, the island's sheltered harbor, you'll set off on a cross-Channel journey and take on the rails.
Once you've arrived, after around 12 hours' sailing, the Isle of Wight will seduce you with its typical ports such as Yarmouth and Cowes.
You'll discover the impressive cliffs of the Needles. This iconic site is a geologist's paradise. To find out more about the chalk cliffs, click here
You'll also sail in the Solent, the arm of the sea that separates the Isle of Wight from England.
The navigation is protected from the moods of the sea and offers many destinations, such as up the River Beaulieu in the New Forest National Park, on the banks of which nestle sumptuous cottages in lush natural surroundings.
Depending on the wind, you can head east towards Sussex, its chalk hills, the South Downs and Chichester Bay, or west towards Poole and Swanage Bay in Dorset, with its exceptional geological treasures.
At the end of the cruise, you'll return to the port of Carteret, in Normandy.

Very nice cruise with Thierry, who listens to the participants' choices. A very experienced sailor, safety is his priority, but so is customer satisfaction. Beautiful boat with a large saloon, we enjoyed ourselves both on the water and at meals. Highly recommended.
Good organization. Top, bravo.
On the way to the Isle of Wight, which is a thing of beauty, we saw dolphins three times. I was even lucky enough to see a seal!
An excellent cruise: we came to sail, and we sailed! Raz Blanchard, crossings of the English Channel, mastering the currents, calculating routes on the charts, continuous trimming of the boat and sails to optimize trajectories, and so on. But we also made the most of our stopovers with our friendly crewmates, visiting ports, the Isle of Wight and its magnificent Needles, pubs and English breakfasts ;-)!
Thierry is an excellent captain, with many years' experience, and a very good cruising companion. We had a great time. He'll teach you all the tricks of the navigation trade. His boat is very well maintained, and he was able to organize a very nice cruise with our criteria, despite sometimes very unfavorable weather conditions (winds and currents). Many thanks Thierry for this cruise. We'll be back to discover the Channel Islands next time!
I would have 2: - The English breakfast in a pub in the morning in Wight, now that's class! - The passage of the Raz Blanchard remains for us a memorable memory: with Thierry at the helm, extremely concentrated, close-hauled, listening to all the noises of the boat, shaken by a chaotic sea all around us and 8 knots of current pushing us... Forever engraved!
A particularly rewarding experience. Very beautiful discovery. Thank you very much
An experienced sailor
We headed for the Isle of Wight from Cherbourg. Several days in the Solent de Wight with varied navigation. The ports are very pleasant and the cities/villages are very pretty. You can feel the rhythm and climate of the English, filled with sailboats that sail, enter and exit on a daily basis. The huge cargo ships remind us that there is a lot of traffic on this inlet. The Channel crossing remains a great experience when the coasts are absent on both sides. A comfortable boat and a real pleasure to learn the basics of sail trimming, steer and maintain a steady course...
Thierry is pleasant, fun and has a strong sea experience. Filled with stories and anecdotes, it enhances the connection with the sailing world. He is open to transmitting his knowledge and makes everyone responsible if asked. It provides a relaxing atmosphere on a daily basis
I loved the first day of sailing with the Channel crossing, a few hollows and a crosswind that made us progress well... but the Grail came at the end of the day when we approached the coast with a beautiful sunset, a bloody moon and an end of night sailing... until we went to anchor the boat near a port showing thousands of stars and a single night.
