Your cruise
For over 25 years, Gilles has been organizing and leading training courses in cruising sailing in Brittany and throughout the North Atlantic.
From June 2026 through September 2026, we are offering a program of inshore and offshore training courses aboard a fast, seafaring sailboat designed for high-speed sailing: the Pogo 40, equipped for cruising. Certification guaranteed.
Courses are limited to a small number of participants (4 people) to ensure personalized attention to each individual’s needs.
Offshore training courses offer a true open-sea experience: preparation, onboard organization, and participation in decision-making. The focus is on safety: equipment, satellite communication systems, weather monitoring, and the skipper’s experience and prudence.
Your possible stops during this cruise
Here is our 2026 itinerary for our cruising trips:
Saturday, June 20–26 (7 days): Concarneau (Brittany) / Scilly / Cork (Ireland) – Offshore (Sold Out)
Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 10 (12 days): Cork (Ireland) / Oban (Scotland, United Kingdom) - Coastal
Monday, July 13 to Tuesday, July 21 (9 days): Oban (Scotland, United Kingdom) / Dublin (Ireland) - Coastal
Friday, July 24 to Friday, July 31 (8 days): Dublin (Ireland) / Scilly / Concarneau (Brittany) - Offshore
Saturday, September 19 to Sunday, September 27 (9 days): Concarneau (Brittany) / Scilly / Brittany - Offshore (full)
Designed for recreational sailors looking to expand their sailing range, this course is structured like a true long-distance cruise.
The course follows a comprehensive program, adjusted according to weather conditions and navigational constraints, to prioritize safety and the coherence of the route.
Navigation then revolves around weather decision-making, using GRIB files (Iridium), route planning, and monitoring sea conditions. Electronic tools (AIS, navigation software) complement more traditional methods.
Sailing maneuvers, trim adjustments, and navigation both day and night help you gain confidence and independence. Special attention is paid to safety, with regular drills and learning essential procedures in real-world situations.
As you log miles, this training helps you build solid skills while fully enjoying the essence of sailing: navigating, sharing life on board, and discovering ports of call that are often inaccessible otherwise.

Pogo 40 - 12.18 meters
The Pogo 40 is the cruising version of the first Class 40s built by the Structure shipyard in Saint-Marine, Finistère. Seaworthy, simple and fast, it combines the pleasure of sailing a regatta boat with the pleasure of a cruising yacht.
Equipped with 2 double cabins and a single cabin, it accommodates 4 passengers on a cabin cruise and 6 passengers in a private group.
If cabins are occupied, the skipper sleeps in the middle
