Your cruise

Set sail from Vieux Port Golfe Juan

Marianne or Philippe welcome you aboard their sailboat for a 5-day sailing course departing from Golfe Juan. The aim is to help trainees become self-sufficient, so that they can sail a sailboat on their own. Most of our courses are introductory courses for beginners or near-beginners ;). If you are interested in an advanced course, please refer to the advanced sailing course offer

Your possible stops during this cruise

Here's your program for your 5-day sailing course departing from Golfe-Juan.
This program is given as an indication and may be adapted according to weather conditions, sea state and crew level.

Marianne or Philippe will welcome you aboard their sailboat in the port of Golfe-Juan on Monday mornings at 9 a.m., to start five days of sailing and learning at sea. Aimed primarily at beginners or near-beginners, this course introduces you to sailing and life on board, with a program adapted to your own pace and experience.

Departing from Golfe-Juan, you can sail to the Lérins Islands, Cap d'Antibes or Théoule-sur-Mer. Depending on conditions, you can sail along the remarkable landscapes of the Estérel, towards the bay of Agay or Saint-Raphaël, and eventually on to Cavalaire or Saint-Tropez before returning to Golfe-Juan.

Throughout the course, you'll learn to feel how the boat reacts to the wind and sails, to take part in maneuvers and gradually get your bearings on board.

Depending on your level, you'll be expected to :
- Prepare the boat for departures and arrivals, both under sail and motor.
- Understand the action of the wind on the sails and steer at different points of sail.
- Trim sails and participate in tack changes.
- Move safely during maneuvers.
- Slow down, speed up and maneuver the boat.
- Discover the main information on a nautical chart and better understand sailing conditions.

Safety on board and awareness of the marine environment are also an integral part of the course.
You'll be back in Golfe-Juan harbor by 6 p.m. on Friday.
